Honestly only a nitpick, but Sableye doesn't get hit like the other Ghosts and can pretty safely switch in even if the Kanga has Crunch. From my experience Sableye and Skarmory are the two most reliable counters.

Just wanted to pop in and say that if you're looking for a reliable counter to MGengar, MKanga, Aegislash, physical sweepers, many stall Pokemon and almost every lead, Sableye is your answer. The little troll is a monster this generation.

Except HP Ice doesn't counter Skarmory, who can use Whirlwind and let you die to SR. And I predict a spike in Skarmory users thanks to Defog, so a way to counter a switch in to Skarmory is Overheat. HP Ice doesn't help if the Skarmory has a Chustap berry because it doesn't hit hard enough...

I still have not seen one good defog set. Every decent poke with access to it suffers from 4-move syndrome. Until that happens, I am not worried about defog.

I was thinking the same thing actually. After running some calcs though, you can get away with Calm and about 200 EVs invested in Defense.

Really, that's crappy damage unburned against Sableye and falls neatly into will-o-wisp+recover territory. Also recoil damage aids the burn stalling. It's only a 2HKO if you switch into a Scrappy Double-Edge and Will-o-wisp misses, and besides, who the poop carries Double-Edge over Return...

I use a similar set and I've found that Overheat is better, and with 60 invested in Speed to beat Jolly Excadrill and 196 invested in SpA for more power, it does almost exactly the same damage to Gliscor (64.1-75.9%) and will 2HKO Gliscor most of the time with Overheat and Brave Bird.
