Pokemon that were more prominent in a generation besides their own

Gen 3 Crawdaunt exists. Most forgetable in RS but in Emerald it is at least used by Sydney. Physical Special split and Adaptability moved it up but the real deal prominence came to be in Gen 6 onwards where Dark Type stops being resisted by Steel and Knock Off getting buffed. Basically it became...

Pokémon Presents - Pokémon Day 2025 - Pokemon ZA Info & Pokemon Champions Announced

For people who don't care about mobile slop the latest present was a waste of time I feel. The only mega revealed also happened to be ANOTHER Dragon Type mega. I am really tired of Game Freak pushing Megas for dragons. Like besides 1 Pokemon, all hoenn Dragon Types have a mega. Gen 1 has only 1...

    Pokemon Evolutions that disappointed you?

Wyrdeer might be the first good looking in design cross-gen evolution that I dislike just for its stats. It went from an average Normal Type that that so much potential from already high stats when it evolves to turn into a Pokemon with stat distribution of a gen 3 Pokemon: slow "bulky mixed...

What are some moves that are extremely rare in certain generations?

Some of the moves that were rare to me were generally in gen 2 where I was really looking forward to try out new moves. Since I bought Gold and later crystal, these moves I did not see these moves without testing metronome out of boredom: Beat Up, Areo Blast, Heal Bell I am sure there were far...

    "Best Pokémon Ever"

One of the best Pokemon I think is Ho-oh. There is so much that I like about it that it kinda surprises me. For one its the advertisement for Ho-oh. I got to Pokemon throught the anime and the reveal of a Pokemon you could not catch in the games at the time and there is more to discover in the...

What pokémon got affected most by changes in the remakes of their games?

------> So much changed for the better for Corphish (even thought it might not matter much). With the exp-share, physical special split, early Crunch... there are so much things ORAS gave it since the 3 gens have passed. Also you get Razor Shell at lv32 which helps until you get Waterfall or...

    "Best Pokémon Ever"

I really liked the comments and style of the "Worst Pokémon Ever" thread. While I think coming up with reasons why one does not like a certain Pokemon and expressing ones disappointed, I'm curious if people have a really positive opinion on a Pokémon they don't get to express or it won't get...

Little things you like about Pokémon

I like how Pokemon Colosseum and XD have different color schemes for shinies. A lot of them look so much better than in the main game or look great in general which makes me love to store or use them in those games more. Like Quilava, Suicune, Gengar, Gligar, Scizor, Ariados

Resource DPP Simple Questions, Simple Answers Thread

With Pokemon Battle Revolution's battle system, there has been the possibility to play with Team Preview in Gen 4. Are there any resources playing by that kind of metagame in Gen 4?

Pokemon that disappointed you in-game despite looking good initially?

I can imagine the suffering of training your Dratini and using it against your friends with Wrap saying "Now you will witness the amount of years I suffered to finally get to use this monster."

Pokemon that disappointed you in-game despite looking good initially?

Wingull can't learn Dive and Waterfall in Gen 3. You have to get Tentacool or evolve Gyarados if you want it early. Corphis is just a placeholder Pokemon for viarity for your dive and waterfall slave. Grinding is not worth it unless you want to give it strength too but you probably already have...

Pokemon that disappointed you in-game despite looking good initially?

Ruby and Sapphire has way too many water types. You need surf to get the good rod to get these things. Lucky me, I caught one at lv27 so just 3 levels to get Crawdaunt. It may be slow "bulky" mixed attacker but its Dark Type and having a viarity of moves surely... it doesn't get Crunch per lv...

Pokemon that disappointed you in-game despite looking good initially?

After using Zangoose in my Ruby run, I think I kinda got the memo why a few Pokemon like Lunatone are kinda underwhelming. Zangoose isn't a bad Pokemon, but I felt like even with the Experience Share with limited battles but not taking the share away much, getting it to the necassary level and...

Little things you like about Pokémon

finding random unexpected glitches or bugs like this trainer walking through the ledges towards me. I don't know why but it puts a smile on my face unironically.

Pokémon that exceeded your expectations in-game despite looking bad initially?

I played Pokemon Sapphire recently. While I did not beat the game because I wasted so much resources to make one particular Pokemon worth using and am not capable to beat the Pokemon League with repeated retries or grinding, I stopped. These are still a few Pokemon that still surprised me...

Pokemon that disappointed you in-game despite looking good initially?

On my Pokemon Sapphire run, I wanted to try out Pokemon I never used in-game. Originally I wanted a Seviper but I settled for Lunatone. My team had a few unusual Pokemon like Plusle and Expload-line too, so I decided to turn mid-game my Mashtomb into an HM slave and forcus on these members...

Pokémon that exceeded your expectations in-game despite looking bad initially?

yeah, with Seedots its more that you get Leafstone about the same time as you are able to purify it meaning you have access to a pretty high BST Pokemon early game. Regarding moves, I felt joy in using Ariados due to Signal Beam which is a very high power stab move for early game. Or how about...

Pokémon that exceeded your expectations in-game despite looking bad initially?

In my run of Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness, I used Grimer. To my surprise, this thing is doing surprisingly well even up to the late game with the moveset of Sludge Bomb, Fire Blast, Helping Hand and Shadow Punch. Mono Poison I associate with bad things but it does surprisingly well by taking out...
