    Pokémon Alola Dugtrio

While it's definitely weaker than it's alternate form in Pokebank, I've had a lot of success with it in pre-bank OU. Dugtrio is good for more than just Arena Trap, and the Steel type both adds to it's defensive abilities and to it's ability to counter the ever-present Fairy types in this meta...

    Hoenn 2.0

What makes you say that? The Beldums from Pokéwalker and Dream World had more than one move, there's no reason to think this event one will be different. Anyway, I've tried a starting TakeDown-only Beldum myself in one of the games, and it actually works quite well. Take Down's accuracy/recoil...

    Mega-Evolution

I explained it before, but basically, designing regular Pokémon actually costs Gamefreak a lot of time. They really do put a lot of work into their designs, both in terms of references and being easy for kids to draw. And then they have to work out balance as well, so that you don't have a case...

Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder!

http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/gyarados#RestTalk If there's one complaint it's that it doesn't keep up with the power creep. Aggron does it better. Edit: MAggron does it better, I mean.

    Pokémon Aggron

Bronzong. And that's it. Not that Bronzong is any kind of a threat. You could always try Metal Burst if you wanted.

    [COMPLETED] Aggron

Ssshhh! If PK Gaming doesn't put it in the OP, competitive players won't know about it! You want to keep that kind of information guarded at all costs.

Aron becomes the best Steel type in the entire metagame.

    [QC REJECTED 2/3] Doublade

It's a worse typing defensively (4 weaknesses) and doesn't have Aggron's amazing moves (120bp STAB, phazing) or it's pretty-much-necessary Filter ability. It's got the defense required for a good ResTalk, but that's about it. It certainly has potential in the lower tiers, but in OU it's just...

    [COMPLETED] Aggron

"Roar is an option if you want consistency." What does this even mean? Instead, I suggest making a note that Dragon Tail does damage, but Roar bypasses Substitute and hits Fairies. I'd also suggest putting that as a note too. Also, does non-DragonTail ResTalk actually work? I always saw the...

    Pokémon Lucario

I'd like to point out that people don't switch into sweepers after they've set up. If they want to switch, they'll do it on the turn Lucario uses Swords Dance, not the turn after. Ballofire was saying Lucario is the best sweeper in the game. That's what Ranevski was on about.

Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder!

Unfortunately, I think I myself did something deserving of this thread. My friend normally plays Doubles, and I never had, so I used my OU team instead. So I thought hey, if it's doubles, I should open with an Earthquake Excadrill and something that's immune to ground. The Pokémon I paired it...

    Other Viable Megas

And what makes you say that? It's clearly a complete model, and it doesn't make much sense to put in four event Pokémon but leave out a nearly-finished fifth until they download an internet-required DLC patch, rather than just... finishing it. This isn't Steam, where developers can make lots of...

    Other Viable Megas

Presumably, both of them will have the same stats after mega-evolving. It wouldn't make sense for them to mega-evolve into the same Pokémon visually without having the same attributes.

    Pokémon Aggron

Welcome to the difference between a physically defensive and specially defensive Aggron. Tyrantrum's +1 Crunches do 25% instead of 32%, and Earthquake Mega Gyarados* does 34% instead of 42%. Dunno how you got 2HKO'd. *I'd like to remind you that Mega Gyarados's attacks do an extra 33% damage to...

Oh, and what, Wormadam is going to be Uber, rather than... a whole new tier below NU? No, that's not how it works.

Other Poll: Steel - Nerfed or Buffed?

I know this thread is obviously about Steel in general, for teams actually designed to be balanced, but I just want to say: MonoSteel got buffed through the roof! I've been trying out a mono-steel team in PokeBank OU, because I like to use pure steel as a handicap for playing with friends (I...

    Pokémon Aggron

And I've been testing out ResTalk. Even then, you're better off with Defense, there's just too many opponents that are purely physical in this new meta. Against lower-ranked players, mind, so they weren't trying to take advantage of a (relatively) low Special Defense. It might not work so well...
