    Pokémon Charizard

Tyranitar can check them both pretty hard. Switch in on Solar Beam to lock in Y. Switch in on anything other than EQ/BrickBreak against X. Can even switch in on a CharX DD if they don't run Brick Break: +1 252 Atk Mega Charizard X Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 302-356 (74.7 -...

    Pokémon Charizard

I still prefer Fire Punch + Outrage over Flare Blitz + Dragon Claw. EQ/Brick Break/Thunder Punch for coverage. Dragon STAB can only hit Dragon for SE, so will be mostly used on neutral targets and the extra power on Outrage helps; +1 Fire Punch will kill almost anything weak to Fire anyways...

    Pokémon Charizard

Most people run Specially Defensive Trevenant over Physical and I included that calc as well. I include them as a reference of scale. Mega Venusaur takes neutral from Fire and I didn't bother including any calcs for neutral Fire hits. A typical DD CharX is best as a late game sweeper. Flare...

    Pokémon Charizard

Because Outrage will do the same exact damage to Mega Venusaur as Flare Blitz?

    Pokémon Charizard

Would Fire Punch be worth using over Flare Blitz on CharX? I hate bothering to set up when Flare Blitz recoil will kill me in 2~3 hits. +1 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Trevenant: 410-486 (109.6 - 129.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO +1 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega...

    Pokémon Mawile

Read the last couple pages about using Pain Split vs Mega Venusaur. Fire Fang would only do neutral damage anyways due to Thick Fat.

    Pokémon Mawile

You want Brick Break if you can't run Fire Fang due to rain. +2 Sucker Punch is still M.Mawile's best answer for Fire switch ins without WoW.

    Pokémon Mawile

Mawile takes neutral damage from Fighting. Her only weaknesses are Fire and Ground, so all you need are Flash Fire and Flying/Levitate pokemon to have immune switch ins. Mawile needs to take a hit to land any non-Sucker Punch attacks so it benefits greatly from Dual Screens. A lot of people...

    Pokémon Vivillon

Rock/Dark = Tyranitar Rock/Dragon = Tyrantrum I can see Draining Kiss be useful if you're running Life Orb or Focus Sash. I still really wish Viv could learn Focus Blast.

    Pokémon Vivillon

I don't really see a reason to run Bug Buzz. It hits Grass, Psychic, & Dark and is resisted by a ton of stuff, sharing Grass SE and Steel resist with Hurricane. I prefer Energy Ball/HP Fire&Ice for coverage or Aromatherapy/U-Turn for utility. I don't think Vivillon hits hard enough, even...

    Pokémon Gyarados

Ferrothorn will usually switch in on the Dragon Dance and either outrace you or will cripple you with T-Wave + Leech Seed + Power Whip, leaving you open to be revenge killed. I wouldn't bother with using Dragon Dance until Ferrothorn is dead or dying, because it can force Mega Gya out or at...

    Pokémon Mawile

Alexwolf's build on this page is one of the best ones: If you aren't a fan of Pain Split you can go Sword Dance instead. I agree with the EV's unless you're playing on cartridge; then you need 132 Speed. The reasoning behind everything in in the last 2 pages of the thread.

    Pokémon Charizard

You get outsped by Scarf Genesect, Scarf Exadrill, and Scarf/Dance Haxorus after you Dragon Dance if you go Adamant and they went +Speed when you would normally outrun them. You lose what would be speed ties to Scarf/Dance Salamence and Quiver Volcarona. With full EV investment, as low as 87...

    Pokémon Gyarados

I've been using this set on my Mega Gyarados for awhile now. Gets hella walled by Ferrothorn so I try to avoid bringing it out until that's dead. You're also going to get Whirlwind'ed by every Skarmory. Here's a ~1700 replay that you asked for but he didn't really have any answers...

Other Most overhyped or underated aspect this gen so far?

A lot of people just expect Talonflame to hit Brave Bird as soon as he comes in, even if we see the counters in Team Preview. As long as Rocks are off (Spin/Defog), I bring in Talonflame as much as possible and immediately U-Turn until they wise up or having nothing left to resist Brave Bird...

    Pokémon Greninja

I think Scald is one of the best choices for Greninja's Water STAB. Almost anything it 2HKO's with Life Orb, both Surf and Hydro Pump would 2HKO as well: 252 SpA Life Orb Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 265-315 (65.5 - 77.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 252 SpA Life Orb...

    Other Viable Megas

I think Mega Heracross is just outclassed by Mega Mawile as a slow, physical powerhouse. Even if a little slower, Mawile has better defensive typing and access to Sucker Punch. I'm only really intimidated by M.Heracross if it received Baton Pass support.
