  1. Pokémon Mudsdale

Well, Stamina makes it a nasty switch-in to multihit moves so maybe it can be used in tandem with a Substitute user that tends to attract that sort of thing? It might be valuable if the metagame somehow ends up being ridiculously Rock Blast heavy...

I would like to point out that Chesnaught can technically use Spiky Shield to score an additional turn of Leftovers recovery and deal some auxiliary damage, although I'm pretty sure this doesn't let it beat Mega Kang anyway.

Yeah, that does make a fair bit of sense. And there really isn't anything that can come in 100% safely, is there? I guess that's what happens when base power finally gets pushed too far... EDIT: Although some things can come in on PuP relatively safely since they won't take enough damage from a...

Yeah, I guess needing to switch something in with correct prediction is a bit harsh (although Sucker Punch does make it easier).

I think "working out the kinks" covers this. I mean being able to 1v6 by itself is hardly a requirement for something to be broken, and being able to win in this way at all is a fairly impressive feat for a single Pokemon. I imagine the plan is to use the remaining 2~3 slots to clean up other...

Is it being discussed there/are there more replays there? It's kind of hilarious. I'm not 100% convinced of this, although that might just be from not knowing the metagame and what won't be dead weight in other scenarios well enough. Still, I feel like options like Focus Blast users...

Ah, I guess it does have the potential to run two coverage moves if it no longer uses PuP, and with 200HP Seismic Toss as well as good coverage and raw power, it's still got pretty strong wallbreaking potential. Although to be fair it's still considerably harder for it to defeat certain things...

To be fair, without PuP it is actually walled by premier physical walls since it would lack a decent boosting option. That'd go a long way to making it "just another powerful mon" rather than forcing players to rely on a series of checks ranging from okay to quite weak.

Not to mention that it'll prevent the metagame from developing and make it harder to shift away from the centralization later...

Most people will use MK AND prepare for it if that's their most probable path to victory. This restricts things further.

The question isn't so much whether there's a way but whether the way prevents the game from being as interesting. In this case, the general consensus is that in order to stop Mega Kanga you have to devote too many team resources, making it less interesting to build teams. (Among other reasons)

I am so sigging this. EDIT: Oh good I finally managed to get the format to work.

Earthquake 2HKOes if I recall, which is an issue. Also, if Kangaskhan doesn't Megavolve on the switch and scores a +1 things become significantly more dire. (For that matter, if it's already +2 you're kinda screwed) EDIT: +2 252+ Atk Parental Bond Kangaskhan Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def...

I believe someone already has, as I've noticed a few posts going missing. That said, it's not THAT bad, at least everyone THINKS they're being constructive.

I'm afraid I have to agree with some of the above responses to this. I enjoy a casual Pokemon battle as much as the next person (I haven't even battled on Showdown yet because I'm kinda nervous about screwing up), but this site is very explicitly for trying to produce the best and healthiest...

Actually very glad you posted this, I'd forgotten about Healing Wish/Lunar Dance. This isn't even taking into account Cleric or Wish support, or Baton Pass shenanigans. The idea that you can amplify the effectiveness of that one slot is something I'd kinda missed, probably due to inexperience...

I want to go beyond liking this and actually reply in the positive: Everyone who wants to post here should read this. I am not replying with anything to do with my experiences because I know they're not up to snuff, so I'm sticking with theorymon, logical argument, and personal opinions. Even...

I wasn't too familiar with the calculator, so I just increased Kangaskhan's Attack by 1.5x to compensate. I also wasn't aware the calculator I was linked to was outdated, could you link me to a more recent one? Ok cool, if it's running EQ then Gengar is a hard counter so just switch it in.

You appear to be correct, the calcs I got would have been off by one or two damage points (probably due to some weird rounding technicalities or a quirk of the damage formula). It's a pretty small difference though.

Well yeah, this is sort of what I mean. I guess I didn't clarify that anything that doesn't specifically check it just loses with no chance of achieving ANYthing, but a lot of sweepers do that anyway (although I guess most of them don't do it to the major walls). Also, no-one has mentioned Red...
