Creative Sets in Smogon Doubles (Updated for ORAS @ Post #83)

I'm aware of taunt, and would usualy switch to an attacker if I predicted the taunt coming. As a core it works well because other players don't expect that I'd be stalling with Goodra. I'm aware of the flaws in using a team like this but it gets wins by its surprise factor.

Creative Sets in Smogon Doubles (Updated for ORAS @ Post #83)

I use a stalling core in doubles because I prefer to weather hits and produce damage over time while passive damage does its thing. Clefairy@Eveolite Bold 252 def /252 sp.def/6hp Cosmic Power Toxic/Attract Moonlight Follow Me Goodra@Leftovers Sassy 252 Def/ 100sp.Def/ 100 Hp/ 58 speed...

    Assault Vest and Doubles

I'm fully aware of this, as I have run these sets before. I'm just saying that as far as Assault Vest is concerned, there are generally better options than Vest&Pants lizard. I'm not saying its a bad choice, far from it. I just find that Scafty (FOR ME PERSONALLY) works better as a Shed Skin...

    Assault Vest and Doubles

Never said it was the be all and end all, just an option to consider.

    And why the long face?

This is a counter-sweep team I've been testing and so far so good, but it needs a bit of work. The two pokemon that cannot be changed under any circunstance are Goodra and Clefairy. So: (Celes) Clefairy @Eviolite Bold/Magic Guard 252Def, 252Sp.def, 6Hp Follow Me Toxic/Thunder Wave Cosmic...

    Assault Vest and Doubles

For the most part yes, but you forget that quite a percentage of pokemon used in double battles learn Follow Me. Just because its not a good idea on *standard* teams does not mean you should throw out the idea completely. I'm not going to fall into a back and forth about whats good and what...

    Assault Vest and Doubles

I personally see Scrafty as being better suited to the role of a D-Dance lead. Dragonite on the other hand could revenge kill quite easily with assault vest and multicale letting it survive most unboosted Ice Beams (something that surprises as much it as it gains other pokemon successful...

Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

Been using Clefairy recently to great effect against people who play me locally: Clefairy @ Eveolite Bold 252 Def, 252 Sp. Def, 6 HP Follow Me Cosmic Power Toxic/Thunder wave Moonlight Makes a wonderfull damage sponge allowing setup sweepers ignore threats and gain needed boosts/momentum...

    Infernape

Chimchar learns Nasty Plot if prevented from evolving in all generations since 4. Other than that I fully agree.

    The 6 Gods

You should consider replacing clawitzer with Scouting Rotom-W. Yes you'll lose some damage presence but the rest of your team is balanced enough to cope with all of the pokemon Claw covers. Not only would you gain access to Volt-turn, Your other leads would gain some breathing space (a godsend...

    Your First Battle

My first competitive battle was a few months after I got BL2/W2. Used Ampharos as a defensive pivot in my first tournament battle and watched my opponent rage after subbing and proceeding to cotton guard. Boy was I a noob back then!

Favorite Pokemon to Use in Generation V

I think my choice would be Melloeta. Crazy sweeping potential on the right team. Starting with Mello's relic song and then wrecking face with a very simple moveset was always satisfying. Not strictly OU material, but the only tier she has any use in. As for the set: Melloetta Nature: Adamant...

    Gen 5 OU team help

Looks like a solid team, though I would suggest changing Garchomp's Outrage to Dragon Claw. Without CB you can't afford it being movelocked
