  1. Worm Food (Doubles): Platinum Update

I love doubles teams and it seems like you have your bases covered here. I have a few suggestions/questions, though: Why the HP EV investment on Infernape? I still don't think Infernape is bulky enough to take strong hits, whereas you could give it a little more in the offense department...
  2. Enter Kangaskhan...A Platinum Team Full of Surprises

I agree with you about X-Scissor. It seems that I wont be faster than most switch-ins unless they are already paralyzed by Kanga/Cress. I'll do some tests with Swampert's EVs in the SpDef dept - I see your and Lamentations' point and let you know if it works out better. However, I would...
  3. Enter Kangaskhan...A Platinum Team Full of Surprises

Thank you for the comments thus far. @Lamentations: I think that I'm going to stick with the standard Cursepert EVs right now, letting it switch in to more physical attacks with ease. Thank you for the suggestion though - I see your point about taking hits from both ends of the spectrum...
  4. Enter Kangaskhan...A Platinum Team Full of Surprises

With the new advent of Platinum moves on Shoddy, I have recently revamped my singles team. I am very pleased with the success that this team has procured so far... **Thank you Aragornbird for the beautiful art** My Favorite Lead of All Time Kangaskhan@Lum Berry Scrappy Impish Nature 252 HP...
  5. Haze of Deceit - A New Kind of Doubles Team

I would like a little more input/feedback/suggestions...this will be my only bump. SS

...speaking of Pinsir, ^^^ If Pinsir/Rampardos is used in a double battle, does Mold Breaker nullify all abilities on the field that are listed here (http://www.smogon.com/dp/abilities/mold_breaker), or just the pokemon that Pinsir/Rampardos is attacking at the time?
  7. Haze of Deceit - A New Kind of Doubles Team

Thank you for the advice thus far. Power Herb is a very cool idea, but I like having the extra power from Life Orb. Usually I can mix sp/phys attacks i.e. Psycho Boost, then Superpower without affecting eachother - then follow it with Haze. However, i'll definitely consider the Power Herb as...
  8. Haze of Deceit - A New Kind of Doubles Team

-Read Before Scrolling Down- I recently thought of several team concepts and decided to put them together for double wifi battles. Before we start this RMT analysis, let's take a moment to create an initial reaction. I am going to show you my two starter pokemon and you let me know what...
  9. Post new creative movesets/EV spreads here:

I have been using this on Shoddy, and it usually takes out 2-3 of my opponent's pokemon because of the surprise factor. If someone has already done this, then I was not aware of it: Bronzong@Choice Band Levitate Brave Nature 252 HP + 252 Att + 6 Sp Def -Gyro Ball -Payback -Earthquake...
  10. Post new creative movesets/EV spreads here:

I have been using this as a lead on Shoddy and she has worked VERY well. Kangaskhan@Lum Berry Scrappy Impish 252 HP + 146 Att + 112 Def [Fake Out] [Sucker Punch] [Counter] [Focus Punch] Fake Out the first turn, which hits everything (unless a faster Fake Out user is present). If you...
  11. Simple Question, Simple Answer Thread Advance

Oh okay...I'm considering not going through with this. It seems like a lot of work for a surprise move haha. Thanks for your help.
  12. Simple Question, Simple Answer Thread Advance

But - could I snag all of them but Rhydon, and get it the second time around with Mirror B? Then it would not save and I could repeat this painstaking process until I get a beneficial nature?
  13. Icy Wind + Helping Hand = Doubles Victory

Thank you for the advice here. I like the idea of changing Flygon's moveset to accompany Snorlax. If you could give me a more detailed description of how they work well together, that would be much appreciated. :) Feint is useful occasionally, but I would be willing to change it for a more...
  14. Icy Wind + Helping Hand = Doubles Victory

You raise several good points here. My Power Herb on Typhlosion is mainly for surprise. I actually see a lot of Swamperts in 2v2. However, I will consider re-breeding for a HP. Wise Glasses would look nice here. Like I said, Rhyperior is conceptual at the moment. I didn't realize that...
  15. Simple Question, Simple Answer Thread Advance

I have a question about Pokemon XD snagging...I'm interested in the Rhydon that Greevil has (with Helping Hand) for double battles. Is there an easier way to get a beneficial nature than to keep trying over and over again? For example, does Synchronize's effect on Natures work for Shadow pokemon?
  16. Icy Wind + Helping Hand = Doubles Victory

I haven't posted a team before, but I would like to share my doubles team that has brought me reasonable success and hopefully will continue to in the future. It is unfortunate that Shoddy does not have a doubles system, but because there are no rumors of it now, I don't mind sharing my team...

No, unfortunately it fails. I tried a similar set on Sceptile that was very cheap: Protect/Detect/Toxic/HP Fire. However, Protect & Detect cannot be used in succession without the chance of success dropping.

That's what I thought. Thank you for the clarification, Howie.

Double Battle Question: If I send out a Rotom (Levitate) and a Rhyperior (Lightningrod), would Rotom's Discharge be nullified by Rhyperior's ability, or would it still hit the two opponents, while not affecting Rhyperior? I would appreciate it if someone could test this... Also, does a...

Double battle question: If I use Trick to switch a Choice Scarf to my partner in 2v2, will it receive the speed boost from the item on the same turn (to let it act next), or will it activate the following turn? Example: Scarfed Mr. Mime tricks to Gallade. Does Gallade automatically move next?
