Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Whenever I use SSH to try and start up my server, as soon as I close down the client, the server closes as well. Do you know if there's any command I can run that will allow me to start/close the server using SSH while still being able to close my client?
Hi it's me again c:
So my server has definitely been up for more than 36 hours now, just haven't gotten around to asking you about having it registered yet. Is there some proof of its uptime I need to show you or are we just on an honor system here? :3
Again, this is no rush, as I know you've...
o__o
It came back on randomly right now. No idea why. I'm sure my IP is static though and my ISP didn't have problems with me hosting a Pokemon Online server for a year and a half. Port forwarding hasn't changed either. Weird...I'll see if it stays up this time.
My IP is static and everything else I normally use it for (TeamViewer, FTP, etc.) still works, but even rebooting the machine won't get the chat to come back up.
Any ideas? No rush, as I know how much work you have to do :c
Ugh, so something happened. The server had been running for a good 24 hours at least, but when I went to check it this morning, Chrome gives me the "No data received" error. I check the machine the chat is running on and everything seems to be fine over there, the chat will pull up fine...
Oh I could definitely understand that lol. I'll let you know when we've reached that. By the way, if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me what the proper way to terminate the server process is? I've never really dealt with node.js before.
GAAAHHHH IT WORKS NOW THANK YOU SO MUCH ^^
And I heard from a friend that I have to go talk to an Admin that isn't you to get it registered for my site. Is that true?
Hi, it's me again c:
So I was finally able to reinstall everything, started up my PS server, and this happened: http://pastebin.com/bRb7E5ej
Not sure if this is a problem caused by something on my end or a known bug that I'm not aware of, but this didn't happen last time for me :c
I was pretty damn sure I was. I uninstalled it awhile ago, but I'll try again once I have access to my machine. I remember switching up the ports though in node.js though before running the program instance to all of the different ones I had forwarded.
Maybe I'll just wipe the machine this...
I really don't want to bother you with this, but is there some other thing I'm missing besides forwarded ports and a static IP for running a PS server on an Ubuntu machine? PS installs and runs fine and hosts locally, but won't host any external connections :c
I've been able to host a Pokemon...
