Can't you Masuda Method, and then when the ESV matches your TSV, count that towards your goal? Then you'd still be updating, without cheating as that is what would normally be a shiny in your game. Plus, you wouldn't feel bad about not staying with the thread?

Jap Ditto + whatever I'm breeding. Unless I'm IV breeding [e.g oshawott]. Then I iv breed that in my french game, and use that with my ived english game.

That sucks :( It feels like the shiny charm has done nothing to help me, and was a waste of time. I got more shinies, easier, without it :/
