  1. Project Victim of the Week

If you want us to nominate checks and counters for the old mons, could you put up the sets they are using? I'm pretty certain what the sets are but I'd like to be sure.
  2. Project Victim of the Week

Check Talonflame @ Choice Band Ability: Gale Wings EVs: 252 Atk/ 4 Def/ 252 Spd Adamant Nature - Brave Bird - Flare Blitz - U-Turn - Tailwind Talonflame can switch into any of Gardevoir's moves and OHKO with Brave Bird. It's only a check, however, as it can only safely switch in if Stealth...
  3. Project Victim of the Week

I withdraw the comment. It's better as a revenge killer but it does work as a check.
  4. Other OU CCAT - Round 4 - Voting

Currently, Psychic Landorus-I and HP Fire Greninja hit all three of the Pokemon extremely hard. Dragon Dancers are a huge problem as well. Here's a suggestion that can help deal with all of them. Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA/ 252 Spd Modest Nature - Volt Switch...
  5. Resource ORAS OU Simple Questions, Simple Answers (Read the OP First!)

I am running Sash Garchomp actually. I have Outrage instead of Stone Edge as my way to attack Talonflame. However, Garchomp is 2HKO'd by Brave Bird so it can't switch into Talonflame. Right now, my main strategy for Talonflame is to let it kill something and bring in Thundurus-I, or if rain is...
  6. Resource ORAS OU Simple Questions, Simple Answers (Read the OP First!)

An interesting idea but I don't think I can use something so utterly demolished by Talonflame. Although being able to deal with opposing Tyranitars is a plus.
  7. Project Victim of the Week

Both moves have merit depending on what you want to hit. Anyways, I think we should stop this discussion because it's not the point of the thread and until Aegi gets banned, it's basically pointless.
  8. Project Victim of the Week

There is the point that if Aegislash goes, then Fire Punch will be sub-optimal (Sub will probably replace it) and this is somewhat a consideration of Medicham counters in the absence of Aegislash. Although Doublade is pretty much the only Pokemon mentioned that Medicham would use Fire Punch...
  9. Resource ORAS OU Simple Questions, Simple Answers (Read the OP First!)

I'm looking for a Stealth Rock setter for a Hyper Offensive Rain team that can also effectively use a good Fire move. Does anyone know a pokemon that fits these criteria really well? I've been using Sash Garchomp till now and it gives some nice wallbreaking ability to my team. However, I've...
  10. Project Victim of the Week

Victini isn't a counter and is actually a really shaky check. It can basically only switch into Medicham once since it has no recovery. After that it can only revenge kill and that is actually the purpose it serves here.

Thanks for clarifying. The Nursery traditionally also gives the trainer a Pokemon Egg right? Do you want to do that here as well? My idea was to give the trainer an Extremespeed Dratini egg. It takes a lot of effort to get Dratini to a Dragonite so it's useful to get a head start. Also...
  12. Other Pokemon: Smogon Version OU [Route 4]

Why don't we make the IV checking entirely on the computer then? No need to waste an NPC on that then. Maybe the PC could also contain an EV checker. I guess having an entirely online Nursery might be a bit weird though. Also, did you decide what your policy would be on the full heal after...
  13. Other The Play Style Play-Offs! [Round 3 Sign-Ups]

I'm not confident enough to take part in this yet but I'm really interested in learning more about VoltTurn so would it be ok if I just listened in on the team building conversation?
  14. Other OU Pokemon Categorization Thread

Here are lists of Pokemon which have viable Choice sets in their analyses: Choice Band: Azumarill, Scizor, Talonflame, Tyranitar, Dragonite, Terrakion, Crawdaunt, Staraptor, Victini Choice Scarf: Excadrill, Garchomp, Keldeo, Tyranitar, Landorus-T, Latias, Latios, Rotom-W, Terrakion, Diggersby...
  15. Other Pokemon: Smogon Version OU [Route 4]

I love this suggestion and the comments you gave. Also, along with the IV rater, can we also put someone who determines the Hidden Power type in the daycare along with explaining what Hidden Power is and what IV's are needed for a particular type? Maybe someone with a Psychic sprite.
  16. Other OU Pokemon Categorization Thread

This might be a difficult and/or tedious thing to do but if it's not too annoying, perhaps you could make the tiny sprites of the pokemon link to their analyses? It would make it really easy to use the thread for teambuilding purposes.
  17. Other Counter That Pokemon! (Final Battle Friday @ 12 PM EST)

Team 2 might need something that can deal with Latios running Draco Meteor/ Psyshock / HP Fire/ Defog. It threatens to OHKO everything on Team 2 except Greninja or a perfect health Dragonite and also provides Team 1 the Defog support it needs. To give a suggestion, maybe Tyranitar with Stealth...
  18. Project Victim of the Week

Since Landorus can't stand Ice Punch, I've switched my nomination to a shaky Bulk Up Talonflame check that works only if Rocks aren't up. Check Talonflame @ Leftovers Ability: Gale Wings EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def/ 252 SpDef Careful Nature -Bulk Up -Brave Bird -Roost -Will-O-Wisp Talonflame, in...
  19. Project Victim of the Week

Interestingly, all of these counters except Sylveon and Gourgeist can be trapped and killed by Gothitelle, a common partner to Gyarados. Sylveon can also be crippled by tricking it a Choice Specs. Gourgeist is good though because it's a ghost and hence can't be trapped I was wondering what...
  20. Other OU Pokemon Categorization Thread

You should remove the Deoxys mentions now that they are banned. Also, maybe add a section on Dual Screeners, since Deoxys-S is no longer the obvious choice?
