So if you absolutely have to run a Flying resist on every team, lest you be swept by Fletchinder, then doesn't that kind of make a statement on Fletchinder's position in the meta? I also feel like it's worth mentioning that I didn't actually call it broken.

What IS a good defensive answer to Magmortar? Seems like it has the right move to hit pretty much anything. And figuring out its set will probably come with some significant bruising thanks to that high SpA.

When are the bans going to affect Showdown? I've seen people using Typhlosion all day lol

I'm extremely surprised that Typhlosion was so close. Specs Eruption is just so obviously overpowered in NU... hell, it'd probably be pretty OP in most tiers with the right Pokemon behind it.

Welp, while everybody else tries to threaten the other tiers into not taking their Pokes, I'm just gonna say I absolutely love this decision. This really helps keep the metagames fresh and interesting while we don't have new games or new HAs coming out.

I'm basically repeating earlier stuff here, but a Pokemon doesn't have to be broken to be banned. If it's just good enough to center the meta around itself, that's often enough cause for concern. Seriously, I really don't think Heliolisk belongs in NU.

Alright, so ORAS brought us the first Megas in the tier, Steelix, Camerupt, and (at a much lower level) Audino. Then, five Pokemon dropped from RU. Then, Feraligatr got Sheer Force. My question is: is NU ever going to go back to how it used to be? Or is the power creep just here to stay until Gen 7?

I always felt like broken defensive mons (as long as they don't have reliable recovery) help to balance a format rather than ruin it. Steelix IS hard to prepare for, but the combination of balancing the tier and the fact that the drops from RU make it less threatening seem to make it just barely...
