how do I change my trash username

I've noticed something odd while playing Platinum for the first time in a while. The time on my Poketch will change, but it always seems to look like morning, and I'm pretty sure my encounters are affected as well. Anyone know how to fix this and/or what's going on with it?

Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the showdown server? I keep disconnecting and stuff and I don't know if it's just because of my crappy wifi or a legit problem.

I keep getting a can't connect to server message :/ I'm really itching to try out my new Balanced Hackmons team too.

Apparently not, because I got up this morning, checked the GTS, and it came! All of the little shapes on it are marked too, so it could have perfect IVs as well!

Yesterday I got on my Showdown tab (I'm on IOS) and my usual background and avatar were changed. So I just changed them back. Then today when I wanted to look for a UU match, it said I had no teams. I look in the team builder and my UU team is GONE. Please tell me there's a way I can get it back!

Yesterday I got a level 100 4IV Rayquaza in a Master Ball (and HOLDING a Master Ball) and Pokérus too! I had sent in a Froakie I got the trade before so it shouldn't be too bad. I put it in the GTS so I can get a Jirachi... eventually. I don't know how legit it is, but it seems pretty okay.

Someone tell me what Bird type does on this. I know it was a beta type in gen 1, so I'm kinda curious.
