Data Usage-Based Tier Update for December 2022 (for UU and you!)

I love this period every gen, when they separate the sheep from the goats!

Resource SS UU Viability Ranking Thread V2

I don't know if I'm allowed to ask, but do you have any replays of Future Sight making Zarude "unwallable"? I thought Future Sight was a very crappy Gen 2 move that is pretty much never used over simply clicking Psychic two times. Finding it suddenly useful is a huge surprise to me, and I wanna...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 6 - Purple Haze - Hoopa-U is now banned

How can something this slow and this frail with such a terrible typing be considered anything more than a nuisance to all non-stall teams? Stall is literally the only argument Hoopa-U has against it now, because it has been established that having zero counters does not necessarily make a...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 6 - Purple Haze - Hoopa-U is now banned

Ok Hoopa Unbound Psyshock vs. Weavile: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- aim for the horn next time (0) Also, CB Tyrantrum has zero counters in OU. None. At least a Dark Type can come in on Psyshock, or Multiscale Dragonite can come in on Psyshock. A RU Pokemon is literally more threatening than Hoopa-U.

What makes you think you need anything more than Talonflame?!? I never had a problem with Hoopa-U the way you guys are talking about. I'm "forced" to prepare my team for Hoopa-U, and any other threat, using 1 or 2 pokemon. Defensively, what answers exist to BW Hydreigon, BW Kyurem-B, Adamant...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 6 - Purple Haze - Hoopa-U is now banned

Do to popular demand, I will list all the OU pokemon (that I use) that check non-scarfed Hoopa-U and forces it out. I never really used pursuit on showdown, and yet it's still effortless for me to put that genie back in its place. Observe: As you can see, there is no shortage of viable answers...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 6 - Purple Haze - Hoopa-U is now banned

Basically, you're saying that Stall must be saved and checks will ever be obligated to come in on attacks? The first is understandable, but the latter is bullcrap. I already debunked that whole "no counter" thing, but yet you persist. Must I go further? Those aren't poor examples. Even the most...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 6 - Purple Haze - Hoopa-U is now banned

This is just like Megagross. Something that isn't broken at all is being considered for ban, simply because it "restricts teambuilding", "2HKOs everything", and "we want to see how the metagame changes". I will explain why those accusations are similarly false. "It restricts teambuilding!"...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

With stealth rock or just a little prior damage, many things viable in OU can suddenly check MegaGross when they couldn't before. MegaGross is a pokemon that gets forced out often, mainly by Scarf Land-T which is omnipresent. Taking advantage of these switches, MegaGross becomes exponentially...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

Okay, first of all, Will-O-Wisp=Neutered MegaGross. Once Meta is burned, or even before, Mew can Roost off damage and then slowly beat it to death. To give you an example: 252 Atk Tough Claws burned Mega Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 104+ Def Mew: 87-103 (21.5 - 25.4%) -- possible 5HKO...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

You're probably right about Banded Talonflame. I use BandBird a lot, but what do I know? I was just saying, in OU, MegaGross still has a lot to fear. Landurus-T doesn't get 2HKO'd even when Intimidate fails, which is all that matters when Lando outspeeds and kills Meta or severely damages...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

Mega Scizor isn't the only counter, though. Standard Mew is a surefire counter to MegaGross if you're afraid of Magnezone, and didn't I say MegaGross has numerous "checks" in OU tier? Choice Band Talonflame murders Mega Metagross, forcing it to switch out or risk dying. Scarf Landurus can come...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

If Mega Metagross doesn't run HP Fire, Mega Scizor can come in on any of its attacks, set up in its face, and sweep while Roosting off the damage. I won't be losing any offensive presense if I know a would-be major threat like Mega Metagross will give me free set up, at which point +6 Attack...

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

It doesn't matter, because Mega Scizor can Roost off the damage and even keep Swords Dancing until it gets to +6, and this is assuming MegaGross even survives that long. Mega Scizor is a counter, plain and simple.
  19. XLR87T3

np: ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 2 - Spider Man [Metagrossite remains OU]

Metagross jumped from UU to OU, all because of its Mega evolution. That is not unusual, but it's a indicator of how much Metegrossite effects Metagross competitively. Despite being very hard to counter, this isn't very different from Terrakion, who has zero counters that aren't NU or banned. The...
