When exactly did the Fire-type start to rise in-game?

I’d say Ice could be changed to got worse over time but improved recently. In Gen 1 Ice was shockingly pretty alright defensively, Fighting was trash, Rhydon was the best Rock type, and Fire took neutral damage from Ice. Meanwhile Blizzard was just disgustingly good, only having Water and other...

When exactly did the Fire-type start to rise in-game?

One thing that did a lot of good for Fire types in Gen 3 was just how insanely early you get Overheat. When your best Fire type moves by that point are Ember, Overheat is such a massive jump in damage; it’s crazy. But yeah, I agree with Fire starting to pick up during Gen 2 because of the Ice...

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Also like, removing pvp from the mainline games will not change or improve the main game itself in anyway. Those new Gen 10 Mons are still gonna have to be balanced anyway for the single player game and in Champions itself. Those people doing that are not just gonna be shifted only exclusively...

    Pokemon Evolutions that disappointed you?

What makes it worse is that it’s not even a low hanging fruit, it was preprepped for eating. You have a basic coal that rolls around in one wheel, ok that’s neat for a rock type. Then you have a minecart that rides railway tracks to transport and consume coal. That’s really clever, so what would...

    Pokemon Evolutions that disappointed you?

I will never forgive gamefreak for making another Kaiju rock monster when a giant steam engine made of stone was right there. There has never been, and never will be, a bigger missed opportunity with a Mon since that thing came to be

What pokémon got affected most by changes in the remakes of their games?

I think the only Starter someone could make any sort of argument for is Typhlosion. But even then that’s just Special Thunder Punch, it still gained way more via leveling, like a much earlier Flame Wheel at level 20 and Lava Plume & Flamethrower right around the time it evolved. (To compare, in...

What Pokemon would you have liked to use in-game but couldn't?

I think the last time I did this was with Jangmo-o in SUMO. Was pretty alright, was the weakest member of the team because of how long it takes to evolve, evolving into Hakamo-o when my starter was almost fully evolved, but when it did work it did a dang good job.

    Pokemon Evolutions that disappointed you?

A part of me wonders if it was done to save on modeling for cutscenes and the like. Outside of the actual physical movements, you could genuinely mod it to swap the model and nothing would change so you end up with Koraidon having this ugly looking attempt at a having what looks like a tire.

What Pokemon would you have liked to use in-game but couldn't?

For me this would have to be the Mons that evolve way too late in Unova. Were it not for the lower leveled Volcarona and Braviary in BW2 I would never even try using them. I refuse to use a basic Rufflet until the champion fight. Also shout out to the Mons only available in the last area of...

    Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

I can see why Drakloak and Dragapult can learn dive, it’s a Water type in spirit. (Heh) Thanks to Dreepys dex entry we know for a fact that it used to live in prehistoric seas. Given how little changes between the evolution line in terms of where it can be found, it stands to reason that its...

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Yeah, they completely overcorrected on gen 7s reveals from way to much to absolutely nothing. I straight up had zero interest in Legends ZA because there was literally nothing new shown to us. We didn’t even know there was gonna be new Megas until mega Dragonite was revealed. They don’t need...

What do you think is the best Pokémon game so far?

Personally I lean towards BW or BW2 as the best for a few reasons that. while other gens might beat them in different ways individually, they have something holding them back for me unlike Gen 5 which strikes up a great balance between gameplay, story and the world players travelled in. They’re...

Is Ghost becoming the new Dragon?

I wanna half agree. Ghosts have 100% risen in usage but it's not for the same reasons Dragons did, sans the occasional excessively powerful Pokemon. (Gen 5 Hydreigon, Salamence & Garchomp/Flutter Mane & Calyrex Shadow Rider) Dragons were given more stronger tools over the years, culminating in...

    High Quality Fanworks

This one's definitely one of the better attempts at the original dragon, top 2 easily actually (Vahirom my beloved). Way too often did I see people make an attempt at it and then just, chimera splice Reshiram and Zekrom parts together in a Black/White Kyurem shape, colours and limbs constantly...

Pokémon that exceeded your expectations in-game despite looking bad initially?

Dottler and Orbettle were my mvps in SWSH, it's surprisingly great ingame despite the rocky start. Even claiming a place on my final team

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

That’s what I’d assume as well, Fighting has always been the quote unquote hero type so it fits perfectly being on a Hero Pokémon. Similarly Fairy is the Dragon slayer type, so it fits with making it the other type for the other hero Pokémon.

Pokemon that disappointed you in-game despite looking good initially?

If there’s yet another thing that sucks about Grass types is that half % of the time, they just use grass types moves. And that’s even if they get good coverage to begin with because Gamefreak is afraid of having Earth Power be the grass type equivalent to the Water types Ice beam. (Hitting...

But Grass is weak against poison hence the example being fire/poison.

    Unpopular opinions

Yeah the secondary type triangle the starters have these past gens have been getting super repetitive, they really need to shake up what types they’ve been using next Gen. Personally I think they could lean into a doubly effective option, where the starter type triangle just goes in one...

    Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

Speaking of earth power, why in gods name isn’t it the grass type equivalent to ice beam on water types? Like I can get not giving it to all grass types just to not make things so homogeneous in the type, but like surely more then 12 grass types, 3 of which are part ground or rock btw, should...
