I agree hazards are not as big of a deal as everyone makes them seem. Go watch replays of WCoP, i really dont see matches being decided by some really consistent form of hazard stacking, mainly just offense v offense with a lot of opportunity to rapid spin

smogon would just ban the broken pokemon with LR rather than the move that's why they took houndstone away pre home

Really well said The one issue i have with your Gambit example is scouting its tera type and patiently playing around it to make sure you can hit it with a super effective move is somewhat punished because he can accumulate swords dance boosts and just OHKO whatever answer you have to his tera...

I was just looking over this (WCoP Stats) really useful document of WCoP 2023 stats and I noticed Iron Treads at 0% usage. I for one really like Booster Speed Treads and I find it to be a really reliable spinner and the +1 speed tier is really nice in many situations! Thoughts on very low...

I think the reason Tusk is high usage is bc it has an intrinsic 4x resistance to rocks, can set up rocks and spin them (role compression), checks Gambit, and has strong ground typing I dont really understand how Ghold makes tusk go up in usage when Tusk cant remove agianst gold ?

"Gholdengo is the reason Great Tusk is at 50% usage on ladder and over 80% in tournaments" Did you misspell King Gambit?

I kinda found this hard to follow, but I think you are focusing too much on what unique pokemon are being played rather than how it feels to play with them?

Regardless of your teambuilding skill you are supposed to lose some matchups in this game, whether it's a predictable loss or sometimes you get blindsided by a set even without Tera you cant handle (Losing to Jaw Lock Roaring Moon when you 100% didn't expect it comes to mind). But losing at team...

There are many things outside of tera types that one team cannot account for that will surprise you and result in a loss. I do not understand how saying that I have been swept by a suprise Tera is somehow undermining my POV that Defensive tera give you an option against team archetypes that...

Not trying to "force" you to like anything. But in your original post you suggest that a tera free meta would motivate you to return to playing more. I disagree with that solution and I presented my argument how the presence of tera preserves a degree of freedom to adapt to certain oppressive...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

Disproving that you don't enjoy something sounds impossible? Point is the Tera free meta-game you'd be more interested in is much more constrained by threats that exist build to build than right now. I think it would limit the creative choices builders and players have when looking to create a...

L take. Here is a team I used for suspect reqs and peaked 2K+ on the OU ladder with: https://pokepast.es/cacce25240094d71 Notice something? The team does not have a dedicated switch in for Walking Wake/Basculegion under Sun or Rain. But I do have Tera Water Lando, which allows this kind of...

if you predict and crunch, if the skeledirge is SpDef, if youre lum you can beat Ya I don't know man that is a lot of things lining up just dont think that is an example of how Dirge isnt a really solid answer - requires prediction, a specific uncommon Lum set, and all under assumption Dirge...

lets be real about the Toxic Chain users: Okidogi - Grass/Poison - Historically dogshit typing. If it has defensive stats pls explain why i would use this over Amoongus? Munkidori - Water/Poison - Makes me think of Pex, but Pex shines bc of Regen and insane defensive stat distribution. In this...

guys just run booster speed + rapid spin Treads and stop letting stuff set up hazards unpunished lol. I really do not think hazards, or specifically spikes, are in the top 5 major issues with OU rn.

Announcement np: SV OU Suspect Process, Round 4 - Who Let The Dogs Out

I tend to agree with this POV I have played A LOT of ladder since home dropped, low laddering for reqs, mid ladder (1500-1800s) for testing, and i was 2K+ high ladder for weeks. I think Zama is really good, maybe A or A- tier, but at team preview there are a lot more mons that are PRESSING to...

Announcement np: SV OU Suspect Process, Round 4 - Who Let The Dogs Out

Can someone pls explain the "pick its counters" point of view a lot of people repeat? Isn't this the case for many offensive threat in the meta right now? I firmly believe Iron Valiant and King Gambit can, for the most part, "pick their counters" currently with a mixed set/tera set...
