    Pokémon Copperajah

The only thing about Heavy Slam is that it fails against Dynamaxed mons, which means unless you Dynamax in return you don’t have a STAB move to use against some of the most dangerous threats in the metagame! It would feel awful having the opponent switch into something weak to Steel to bait out...

    Pokémon Copperajah

Oh yeah, I was thinking more for Battle Spot Singles tier or official tournaments! I like to use simulators to test out setups for the real deals, prevents me from having to do hella breeding before I can even try it out in-game :>

    Pokémon Copperajah

This is a cool core! Though doesn’t item clause prevent both Rajah and Hydreigon from holding Life Orbs? In that case, what would you recommend for ‘Gon? Wise Glasses, Expert Belt, maybe even Choice Specs with NP replaced with another coverage move?

    Pokémon Copperajah

So I’ve been messing around with this thing and I think Heat Crash is a perfectly viable move even on non-Heavy Metal sets! Both of the problems you’d want it for (Ferrothorn and Corviknight) still weight significantly less than Sheer Force Copperajah, which makes them fall into the highest...

    Pokémon Obstagoon

Hmm... I’ve already got a trained Aegislash in Ultra Moon with this setup: Aegislash @ Weakness Policy Ability: Stance Change EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Sp. Atk Brave Nature -Shadow Sneak -King’s Shield -Flash Cannon -Sacred Sword Would that setup still work once I’m able to import it into Shield...

    Pokémon Obstagoon

Ooh, true. So a good set might look something like: Orbeetle @ Leftovers/Focus Sash/Heavy Duty Boots Ability: Frisk EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe Nature: Impish -Sticky Web -U-Turn -Recover -Hypnosis What would make a good third for this core? Something like Bulk Up Corvoknight or Regenerator...

    Pokémon Obstagoon

So what's gonna be the best Sticky Web support for this big lug? Ribombee and Orbeetle both act as decent checks to the Fighting-types that threaten Goon so much, but they've both got their downsides--Rib the speed to guarantee a web set before it faints but its bulk is so low that it's almost...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Interesting! So would Bold with Sticky Web, Body Press, Stored Power, and Calm Mind be a good supportive set for it? Or is Recover too essential to give up?

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Do you think that set would be worth running over Punk Rock Boomburst? I feel like even if PR’s only a 20% boost rather than 50% it’d still be capable of nuking anything that doesn’t resist it, making it far scarier to switch into versus a set using its lower physical attack and with no boosting...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Yup yup! Wonder when that will be, though... Bank wasn't up and running til February after XY launched, and GameFreak has yet to announce a release date for Home beyond "2020." Hope it doesn't take too too long, and that they don't charge too much for it--if it's anything more than Bank's $5...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Oh that's true, I didn't even think to factor in Facade's signature boost, haha! It's also one of the only three Dark-types left that get STAB Knock-Off, so switching in is gonna be scary as heck for most opponents. You either lose your item or you lose most of your HP!

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Only for simulator play, though! I still do play competitively both in-game via Battle Spot and in local tournaments (my city's got a decently-active competitive scene thankfully) so I wanna keep up my gimmick of having a "mascot" Pokemon that I use on most teams and just find a way to make it...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Hmm, never considered that! Orbeetle disappointed me with its stat spread but I guess it could be useful in terms of sheer utility alone. And would you recommend Low Kick over Close Combat on Goon? Most Steel-types are heavy, sure, but I'd constantly be worried about the ones that aren't, like...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Can't ban stuff in Battle Spot! :mehowth: For simulator play I don't really care what tier she's in though, I'll still use her in OU. If I could make Scrafty work I can maker this big lug work too, dangit!

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

I wonder what kind of cores I can form around Obstagoon... Hatterene seems like it would make for a good partner since it scares off Fighting-types and can whittle away targets that Goon can't OHKO, but neither is particularly fast. Dragapult might also be interesting; it can Baton Pass Dragon...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Yeah, the ones you get as a gift are apparently locked to their standard abilities, but we'll probably get raids to snag their HAs sometime down the line. Really wish they'd just bring Friend Safari back, that was bar none the best way to get HA 'mons with good natures and IVs AND it encouraged...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Pretty sure they're just purchasable with BP now, think I remember someone saying they're 50 each? Definitely easier than "Battle Tree streaks and rare drops only" from SM though. Yeah! They've got decent stats and their hidden abilities fix the glaring Speed issue, so they might end up being...

SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Arctozolt about to singlehandedly save us from the terror of Dynamax Gyarados, lol I hope that Dracovish ends up being decent as well; it's my fave design of the fossils and I really love its potential utility with both Water Absorb and eventually Sand Rush. Gonna be resetting a bunch for a...
