  1. Gen V: OU stall

Hello everyone. I tried to have a go at stall in gen 5. The game has been becoming more and more agressive but I'm a defensive player. The change of how special and physical moves are defined and Pokemon receiving better and better stats have led to this. I started competitive battling back when...
  2. Know your roots!

Bump :( I'd really like some pointers and comments.
  3. A finale at the DPPt UU Metagame!

Come to think of it, Gardevoir boasting Trace would be more solid for checking Venusaur than Alakazam. It's bulkier, though slower and slightly less damaging. But it gets Heal Bell and Wish, so your options are plenty.
  4. A finale at the DPPt UU Metagame!

Though not at all standard, I believe you could patch up the Spiritomb/Venusaur weakness if you consider putting Sceptile or Registeel in the lead position. This however means that the enemy will most likely get their rocks up 100%, so beware of that. A subseed set on Sceptile isn't a bad idea...
  5. Know your roots!

Greetings everyone. Introductions are cheesy. At any rate, I stepped back from the extremely repetitive (imo that is) OU tier and strolled into UU - and liking it! For the past couple of days I've been working on this team, after trying out a few I'd seen posted here and having established a...
  6. Death By Ice (OU Hail RMT)

I don't see why you're using Abomasnow here. It's not a great pokemon overall, and not a single team member other than itself benefits from hail. Ice Beam can easily be used instead of Blizzard on Tentacruel, who's not offensively oriented anyway. In fact, getting rid of both Blizzards and...
  7. "Hazards Ahead": An OU RMT

I would highly recommend you consider changing Vaporeon's Roar for HP Electric. You need something reliable for Gyarados from the looks of it, other than Rotom. If you really want two phazers, Stone Edge on Flygon. HP Electric also works on Empoleon, and serves exactly what you described plus...
  8. Porygon2

I didn't mean to imply the ability itself should be banned, but you said it nicely. Shandera can just -theoretically- set up ridiculously easy if he has it. I wasn't aware of that btw, they can both switch? Back in third gen I'm pretty sure I could trap Dugtrio with P2. It doesn't seem to make...
  9. Porygon2

I really doubt anything with Shadow Tag is going to sneak out of the uber tier. That being said, Porygon2 still resists ghost and with the pre-evolution item it'll be able to take a few hits. Seems it can learn Shadow Ball from now on too, so you can still Trace Shadow Tag and kill it if it's...
  10. OU comeback team

I've been playing Pokemon over battle simulators since before Netbattle came to be, on a crappy browser page called the Pokemon Battle Simulator which still exists. Anyhow, I quit for a long time after D/P was released, probably because the radically changed metagame put me off. Then I came...
  11. Frantic Monkey! (OU RMT)

I switched Primeape's AA for Punishment (why the heck did I give it to him anyway...). The Kecleon sounded pretty nice, and I gave it a shot, unfortunately with very little success. I might try to add in a Porygon2... I always liked those and it offers a VERY nice counter to...
  12. Frantic Monkey! (OU RMT)

Thanks guys :D I will try your suggestions tomorrow, because I'm going to bed now. I appreciate the props :)
  13. Moltres Return ! (Ou RMT )

Raikou resists Electric, I won't argue with that... But Electric resists Steel - not the other way around. Jirachi doesn't resist Electric. EDIT: And why does Blissey pack Brick Break? I have never seen that before o.o The only thing I can come up with that it might be good for is a hit on...
  14. Moltres Return ! (Ou RMT )

I think you overlooked quite a few things when building this team, most notable synergy. Looking at this team, I notice: -3 pokemon that are weak to electric -2 pokemon that are weak to ground (granted you cover this nicely, but still) -2 pokemon that are weak to rock (one of which x4)...
  15. Frantic Monkey! (OU RMT)

    Aww... anyone? ;_;
  16. Frantic Monkey! (OU RMT)

Hello everyone! I've been a member of the Smogon forums for a few years now (though obviously very passively :P) And now I've returned as I've recently started playing again. The main reason is I'm a college student now, and I needed an online game that wasn't all too time-consuming... and...
  17. First RMT =D

4 pokemon of your team share a weakness to Ice, one of which is x4. Even 3 is too much, so try narrowing this down to 2. Heatran would prove to be fine addition, with its x4 resistance to it and helps to balance out the attacks in your team, as it seems to favor physicalness. Wishing Vappy could...
  18. Second RMT

Bump... I've been experimenting for putting something else over Cress, yet have been unable to find something so far. Blissey, boring as it is imo, seems tempting and I can give it Stealth Rock, seeing as I got Tangrowth and Porygon2 ensuring my status inflictions.
  19. Is the power level over 9000 yet?

Well, Swampert is better overall, but he's only neutral to ice and is not going to spin. You've got enough of physical in your team, make your pick something with a bit special attack. Special Swampert could work, but I'd opt for Blastoise.
