  1. 5th Gen Sandstorm

This is clearly a team built for the "standard" tier on PO, and as such is not permitted. P.S. This is the most generic sandstorm team I've ever seen.
  2. The sunlight is strong ! Ubers Dream World RMT (peaked #3 on PO)

@Fireburn: Yeah, I noticed that. Sorry, I was looking at super-effective hits. My bad. @locopoke: I wouldn't trade away Forretress against Ray and Mewtwo like that, but I see what you mean now. My concern was that, once you switch Forretress back in, it'll probably take some damage and lose the...
  3. The sunlight is strong ! Ubers Dream World RMT (peaked #3 on PO)

@locopoke: Sorry if this sounds stupid, but the way you describe him, it feels like you're treating Forretress as a suicide lead when you talk about Custap/Sturdy/Explosion and "not having enough time to use Toxic Spikes." This doesn't seem like a very productive way to look at it, as Forretress...
  4. The sunlight is strong ! Ubers Dream World RMT (peaked #3 on PO)

I remember this team. Or, rather, I remember beating it. With nearly every member of your team grounded, Spikes and Toxic Spikes are a huge threat, so I would consider putting Forretress back. Despite what you say, I see Scizor as a liability here, having very poor synergy with the sun. Running...
  5. Team 'Surprise of the Element'

Well, some Deoxys actually run Lum Berry in an attempt to set up Stealth Rock against Darkrai trying to use Dark Void, though they could just as well use Dark Pulse for a OHKO. However, when I said that you would lose the safety of Focus Sash, I meant that with regard to attacking leads that...
  6. Team 'Surprise of the Element'

I must say that I can't agree with the suggested 24 Atk / 232 Spd / 252 SAtk Mewtwo spread, as it guarantees that you will be outsped by other Mewtwo, and I'm not terribly sure what purpose 6 more Atk points will do for your Selfdestruct. Other than that, reading over your original post...
  7. Team 'Surprise of the Element'

This is extremely faulty logic. Deoxys-S should NEVER be attacking, except against Deoxys-A, which it will always 2HKO and never OHKO. You should use a Jolly nature to tie against other Deoxys-S so that they will not automatically shut you down with Taunt. Moreover, the defense you trade with...
  8. Team 'Surprise of the Element'

    1) Why does Deoxys-S have a Lonely nature? You aren't using any special attacks or Counter, so switch to a Jolly nature. Put Taunt on it, since it can actually learn that. 2) How do Groudon and Fire Blast help you at all with Latios? Your team has a problem with Latios because everybody on it...
  9. Waiting For The Sun (Peaked 8th)

You already have a Scarf Palkia, so you could just put Thunder over Aqua Tail for Kyogre. I don't really see why you should need two physical moves, since Outrage can take care of Blissey and Latias fine. Besides, if you take Kyogre out of your team, Aqua Tail loses a lot of its value. As for...
  10. Ask an Uber Question, Get an Uber Answer

What is a good way to stop double dancing Groudon? Many times, I see Groudon switching in, setting up Rock Polish. At this point, I'm forced to go to one of my walls, since I run a defensive team, allowing him to get a Swords Dance. Following this, Groudon proceeds to OHKO the rest of my team. I...
  11. Ask an Uber Question, Get an Uber Answer

In the last-poke scenario, yeah. Actually, Giratina and Ghost Arceus (speed tie) can burn it, so that's kind of a win. Also, using Recover forces Arceus to rely on two moves for coverage, making it much easier to wall.
  12. Ask an Uber Question, Get an Uber Answer

To follow up on this: * Scizor can do some good damage with Superpower (~80%). * Wobbuffet survives a +2 hit and OHKOs with Counter. * Defensive Mewtwo will always survive a +2 ES and can Will-O-Wisp it. * Defensive Groudon is never 2HKOd and can stop it with Roar or Toxic. * Only the Normal...
  13. The Periodic Table of Ubers

As a nitpick, Carbon Dioxide isn't an element either, but a compound of two (Carbon and Oxygen). Aside from that, I haven't much to add, except that Scizor as the only Dragon resist always seemed iffy to me.
  14. Beginner's Ubers Team

I've made some pretty heavy changes to this, and with Gen V already out, I doubt I'll be playing much more Ubers. That said, I think I deserve a bump to see if there are any last adjustments to be made (and I am under no illusion that this is in any way perfect).
  15. Ask an Uber Question, Get an Uber Answer

Careful. Ho-oh will rip you a new one, even at +6/+6, with its 154 SDef and resistance to Steel. Edit: Actually, Taunt Heatran can do this too.
  16. Magic Bounce

This is incorrect. There is in fact a field in the Pokemon data that lists what ability it holds. It is entirely possible to change this, allowing any monster to have an arbitrary ability (e.g. WonderTomb). When a Pokemon evolves, this field is reset according to the divisibility of the PID to a...
  17. Beginner's Ubers Team

giggity69: Thanks a lot for your suggestions, they've really helped me out. In addition to your advice, I've put a CS Heatran over Jirachi, as it abuses the sun pretty well. As for Arceus, I'm not running one because I'm not sure which one would be most helpful -- Rayquaza seems to have...
  18. Beginner's Ubers Team

If I'm not mistaken, won't Arceus be allowed whenever Shoddy Battle 2 is released? If so, learning to play around it is totally relevant, which is part of the reason I'm on PO (a dislike for Java is the other reason). Also, I am completely open to replacing Ho-Oh, and I will try your...
  19. Beginner's Ubers Team

@eValentino: You're probably right. I've found that most matches either involve me stalling the opponent out with Roost + Sub on Ho-Oh or with Groudon + Latias. I was indeed trying for offense (I read that Ho-Oh was supposed to be devastating), but the Rain team in your RMT is too different. As...
  20. First "real" battle tower team!

The problem is that they can take out your Wobbuffet right away, putting you at a disadvantage. For example, if you switched to a Trick+Scarf lead, you would be able to at least lock the AI into OHKO moves, allowing your next Pokemon to stall their PP out and set up to +6.
