Research Difficulty of games by pokemon levels

For me, the level of wild Pokémon hardly matters in the game's difficulty. Yes, you can be beaten up by a Level 29 Dugtrio before facing Lt. Surge, but if it was, say, a Magikarp, this high-level opponent would've been easy to defeat. Similarly, we all have heard of horror stories of wild...

SPOILERS! Mysteries and Conspiracies of Pokemon

I think they considered not just high Atk and SpA, but also Abilities and/or BST, hence why Slaking is considered Porygon-Z's equal among strong Normal-type Pokémon.

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Louder for those in the back, please! Seriously, isn't Munchlax a popular Pokémon that's also good in-game? Why keep Honey Trees as such when Honey Tree Munchlax is known worldwide as one of the most irritating Pokémon to catch in any game!? One percent chance to find on only some trees? And the...

Good and Bad Adaptations of Mainline Game Material

Haven't read this leaked script, but I have the gut feeling I still won't like this Team Plasma arc that could have been because the meteor subplot wouldn't fix two of my biggest gripes about this arc: Where's Zekrom? Where's Ghetsis team? XYZ's and XY's climaxes are like apples and oranges...

Common Kalos L, you have four rivals including the other playable character without a hat, and yet they aren't together in a card.

SPOILERS! Mysteries and Conspiracies of Pokemon

Speaking of bones, why does the Rare Bone share its sprite with the Thick Club until BDSP? How the fuck are random people and Pokémon without the magical ability to identify item effects just by obtaining them supposed to know the difference between the two?

    Pokémon Movepool Oddities & Explanations

Actually, why does Piplup even have Pound? Is Pound really that different from Tackle?

Ladies and gentlemen, the only time I heard a song and thought "Look at how they massacred my boy." (Especially after the triumphant masterpiece that is the RSE version.)

Ghost girls don't need an explanation, and besides, it's been a decade after XY with zero answers. Any answer after a 10-year long mystery is going to disappoint people.

What was the "breakout Pokemon" of each generation?

Corviknight is one of the most popular regional birds. Hatterene was also popular in fanart. Falinks and Snom are well-liked too.

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

Speaking of Zacian, Zamazenta, and Zarude... It bothers me that Zarude's name follows a pattern similar to the other two ("Za/The" + word) despite being completely unrelated to them.

Game Freak hit with another hack, info leaking

I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't even a Mega Flygon design to begin with. The writer's block can be really difficult to overcome, even if you don't work in a franchise where you are expected to make dozens, if not hundreds of new monster designs every few years.

What was the "breakout Pokemon" of each generation?

Is Alcremie that popular among the Generation VIII roster? This thing was also the first playable Gen VIII Pokémon in Pokémon Mesters EX if I remember correctly.

The Best and Worst Boss Fights in Pokemon

I keep forgetting Brock had exclusive access to Full Heals from Pewter City's Poké Mart. By the way, isn't it weird that the only unique Trainer to use Full Heals in the entire franchise was a 1st Gym Leader? A new player during their first playthrough probably had no idea what this item does.

The Best and Worst Boss Fights in Pokemon

Continuing the defense of RBY's Onix, the Move Bide. Yes, it's a bad move, because it turns the user into a sitting Psyduck. But when Brock's Onix uses it, it turns into a teaching moment. What does it teach the player? "Hey, Status moves are cool, you should use them sometimes instead of...

No I didn't. I thought Game Freak was somehow smart enough to hard-code which Toxtricity can have which Natures.
