  1. Were siging in the rain!

Staring at this team for a bit, it looks extremely weak to Landorus-I's special set. Nothing on the team can take a hit from Earth Power/Focus Blast, and at +2 only Kabutops can really take it down. The above suggestion works, as Latios can easily take a hit from even Modest Lando-I, although...
  2. A Standardized Tiering System

I second the idea of tiering individual cards of the rotation, rather than an entire deck. Analyses for cards can state what works well with it, eg Zekrom with Eels behind its back, Garchomp+Altaria, or if it's a very flexible card that can work with many decks (such as Emolga, able to call out...
  3. Necessarius

@John I did originally have Ferrothorn, but it was underperforming for me, which is why I tried Scizor. I'll try out Giga Drain, though, since I often don't ever use Roost. @Shurtugal I did consider SD Scizor but was unsure about it, and I defaulted to Band. Would a bulky Scizor set be good? I...
  4. Necessarius

So I've been using this team for a few weeks, and I am very satisfied, although I think it could use more. While I'm personally a bigger fan of sand, I often resort to rain to use sets I like, and for this one that's Rain Volcarona. I often see team weak to Volcarona and wanted to play off of...
  5. Before the Storm

I'm not sure about replacing Dugtrio, because it doesn't just take on Sun, it also ensures Heatran and Jirachi go down, instead of me having to keep switching on both. I'll try out Keldeo I guess, because I've seen you do well with it, though I'm unsure of giving up my spinner, even with Taunt.
  6. Before the Storm

    Bump :x
  7. Before the Storm

Question, would it be beneficial to drop HP Grass on toed for Perish Song and then add Psychic over Perish Song on Celebi? I feel that without Specs toed loses force on HP Grass, and Celebi also can easily take on what toed possibly hits with HP Grass.
  8. Before the Storm

Thanks for the rates! first thing I'm going with, I'm trying ShootingStarmie's suggestion first, about physically defensive Jirachi, because he did suggest that to me prior to making this RMT but I didn't know the spread he meant. He also messaged me to try a Scarf Keldeo when Scizor and...
  9. Before the Storm

Hi there, Smogon! Back again with another RMT~ This is actually a team I've been using for awhile (and made an RMT for!) but only recently jumped on to make changes. The original team had a heavy focus on Volt-Turn, but this one takes off some of that offensive pressure for more defensive play...
  10. Kyurem's stall

I believe he refers to the fact you're using only 24 SDef EVs with a +SDef nature, and he's right, it's inefficient. If you go with Ice Beam, a Timid nature with 248 HP / 124 SDef / 136 Spd would make you 1 point faster (4 less EVs puts you at 284, I'm assuming you don't want to tie with base 80...
  11. Bahrag Queens

I think I can do this once? uh bump
  12. Bahrag Queens

Thanks guys! I actually was thinking about Specs Politoed for awhile, because it's a personal favorite of mine, and I do very well with it compared to the defensive set. I think I'll go ahead and try it, Rockstar. I think I'll go with Chimpakt's suggestions for Lanturn. ResTalk sounds nice but...
  13. Bahrag Queens

Thanks Asek and bubbly! I went ahead and put Dugtrio on the team, changed HP Ice to Grass Knot on Torn-T, and changed Ice Beam to Focus Blast on Politoed. I'm going to test those today. Also I really need to find smaller pictures.
  14. Bahrag Queens

I haven't made a Gen V RMT in a long time @_@ Mainly because I've still been trying to learn the metagame well and then BW2 threw me for a loop. Anyway here I am to bring a team I've been tweaking with for a few weeks based off a silly idea of mine. The whole thing's based on me wanting to use...
  15. Official Smogon University Simulator Statistics — July 2012

People also prefer Lugia for its stalling capabilities in general, which Pressure has some more merit for. Multiscale's great for taking one massive hit easily, but when it comes to stalling, Pressure's what you want.

Tornadus-T just jumped right into there in no time Not surprising, considering how amazingly dangerous it is and its ability to just consistently come in and wreck.
  17. When team building for standard 5th gen OU, what do you personally take into account?

My teams all start off with a specific core I want to try and work around it. Generally the first thing I keep in check is type synergy, and make sure I have something to switch into each type of attack, which leads to a majority of my teams being balanced/stall. If I can't account for a...
  18. PokeStats: A Power Creep in OU?

It says many players of older generations will have trouble adjusting... I can see that happening with a sudden jump from II to V, but most players I know can adapt to the game. Many people who have played from III onwards know how to adapt to an evolving metagame and had little problems with...
  19. Choiced Items

Moxie allows Heracross to possibly clean up a team or pull a sweep, much like Salamence, but Guts also allows a switch-in to something such as Toxic or Will-O-Wisp, which allows Heracross to hit not only 50% faster but 50% more powerful, putting a lot of pain into its hits. It's more a matter...
  20. Landorus-T

If you're really going to use Rest, I would suggest Chesto if you plan on waking up from it. The opponent is likely to burn you or inflict some other status which will get rid of your Lum before you can Rest. Speaking of, why even use Rest? By the time they inflict status you've already got +2...
