  1. Harvest

No Pokemon has an ability that makes it immune to all status, one or two, but not all. A Lum Berry achieves this, even against secondary status. Plus Natural Gift allows for 80BP physical moves instead of 70BP special moves from Hidden Power. While a Life Orb would make HP more powerful, the...
  2. Jynx

The ability would be brilliant if it told you a random move. Well not brilliant, but much better.
  3. Abomasnow

Magic Coat does you no good against attacks, which is the main issue, anything that switches in will no doubt be faster and kill you before your recovery options have a chance to take effect. Subs protect from status so you'll have one aspect of Magic Coat covered.
  4. Abomasnow

You'll never get a chance to attack as he's slow as hell with a lot of weaknesses, if you want any chance at all you'll have to run substitute. Although Giga Drain is interesting given its boost.
  5. Jynx

It's a cool new ability, but unfortunately the fact it is illegal with Trick means it's useless to me. I'll be sticking with my existing Jynx set, so I'm disappointed it didn't gain anything move wise or even an evolution =( Lead Jynx @ Choice Scarf 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 6 SpD Modest Forewarn...
  6. Abomasnow

I disagree, on a stand alone basis Snow Warning is actually crap as all you get is 100% accurate Blizzards. It's not like Tyrannitar where he gets an instant SpD boost. Snow Warning is a team ability and as many have pointed out, hail is the worst weather condition supporting only one type...
  7. Purgatory

The main point is most definitely to burn things, because if it was all about power you'd choose Flamethrower or the many other special reliable fire moves instead. In Purgatory you take Flamethrower and trade of a lot of accuracy for a massive jump in burn rate.
  8. Purgatory

Issue with Victini is that being a sweeper ( I haven't been following its thread or anything, but it can hardly be defensive given its typing ) its main priority isn't to burn the opponent. It's to deal damage, and do so reliably. Even with a 10% accuracy increase it doesn't meet that threshold.
  9. Purgatory

It'll never be used, you need the Pokemon to have access to Gravity and be bulky for it to be even remotely considered, of which none of the above do. If you do consider it, you'd may as well go the whole way and slap on a 1HKO move instead.
  10. Keldeo [available from June 23rd to August 31st]

I agree with there being very little reason to have Dark over Ghost for HP. The only differences they have is Fighting's resistance to Dark and Normal's immunity to Ghost. Though no one is going to be switching in a Normal type on a Fighting type like this, so having neutral coverage against...
  11. Elemental Gems

Recycling is a waste of time as using the same move twice in a row gives you effectively 200% power with only one move slot. Using a move with the Gem then Recycling it gives you 150% power over two turns with two move slots.
  12. Ferrothorn + Jellicent, Stallmates

So long as it doesn't switch in on a Surf or Boiling Water, Houndoom is a good counter.
  13. Elemental Gems

I agree with the Choice issue, at 50% you trade off a lot for one attack to be boosted, let alone you don't really decide when you use it - it could be wasted on a target in which the power boost isn't needed. If you're going for raw power surely Choice is better as the usage is infinite. If...
  14. Cloyster

According to Serebii over 100 Pokemon have over 319 maximum speed so there's plenty of selection. Of course Cloyster could have Ice Shard, but then it has to sacrifice rock or water coverage. If anything it shows Cloyster can't cover everything at once, and so is more than counterable =)
  15. Cloyster

As I said on the previous page anything scarfed with 319 speed can outspeed Cloyster after a Shell Break. Any special attack will pretty much kill it. Or any SE physical attack.
  16. Articuno

Mind Reader does effectively force the switch unless the opponent wishes for their Pokemon to die. However this has huge potential with U-Turn does it not? On the turn your opponent switches due to Mind Reader you use U-Turn, whatever your opponent has brought in you can instantly send out a...
  17. Cloyster

I'm guessing it's probably been mentioned somewhere in here but it's worth nothing that anything scarfed with over 319 speed will outspeed a Shell Break Cloyster, and that's assuming Cloyster has max speed EVs (with a neutral nature, surely you'll want your nature to boost attack). So any sort...
  18. Articuno

The simple reason I think 1HKO moves should be viable is down to the fact of who would even use them without the aid of a move like Mind Reader? Of the 4 moves available, there are a lot of checks to them too. Horn Drill and Guillotine are ineffective on Ghosts and Fissure misses Flyers and...
  19. Articuno

Be honest, only a moron is going to give up a valuable move slot to an attack which will work only 30% of the time. Zap Cannon and Dynamic Punch were never used on Pokemon due to their crappy accuracy, despite how strong the actual attacks were either. On top of this, with sturdy getting a buff...
  20. Cloyster

Indeed, a Lapras couldn't take a Rock Blast. You do however only have 4 move slots. My post was mainly a response to the youtube video posted, as the fact there are many things that can actually take Cloyster down means it is no where near broken. I didn't do a great job of specifying that =/
