No problem at all. I still feel like a dummy next to some of the people in that thread too. :) Here's basically what you want to do: 1) Get someone with Sweet Scent in your party 2) Go to the area where you want to capture the RNG pokemon 3) Save, turn off the game 4) Turn back on...
  2. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Check the first post for the basic guide. I don't know anything about PPRNG, but I know the PC equivalent is superb, so speaking only from personal experience I'd suggest using a PC if possible. You do have a DS Phat / Lite, right? The characteristics are based entirely upon IV's. Figure...

The point is that I don't want the egg to be shiny. I've succeeded twice with the shiny egg finder, but I don't want everything to be shiny. :)
  4. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Wait a minute. Do you still have to start on IV frame 8 when using "gift pokemon" for breeding, or do you start on frame 1?
  5. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Oh, so "gift pokemon" is the same method as "breeding" now? IIRC there used to be a method called Breeding that would account for starting on frame 8. I tried using the normal encounter method, but I got really weird results that didn't match anything. Anywho, I'll try that. I agree, using...

Good idea, I'll do that. Thanks! :D
  7. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Hello again! :D I was very into this scene a few months ago, but then I grew bored with Pokemon because I didn't really have anyone else to play with. Now I'm sick and picked the game back up to keep me entertained. I haven't used the last couple versions of RNG Reporter (latest is 9.81...

Sweet Scent! So you got shininess to work? :D :D :D Feel like explaining it? ;)

There's a chance it will inherit all 3 IVs from the flawless Ditto. There's also a chance it will inherit all 3 IVs from the other parent. To be sure, you either need to play with PID frames in RNG Reporter, or you need both parents to be flawless.

Sorry about the computer problems. I'd be quite interested in seeing this, though. ^.^ EDIT:@ExquisiteZero: All you can manipulate with the C-Gear method is the direct IVs of the baby. After those IVs are set, though, they're overwritten with some IVs from the parents - that's the inheritance...
  11. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Your eggs won't necessarily be perfect, depending on inheritance. Not to be a jerk, but this is exactly the reason I took the time to write up a guide...

Excellent! :D I have a DSLite. According to that video, I've got v5 (two purple screens appeared). Button presses do tend to increase my Timer0 by 1. EDIT: Firestorm, you're using Sweet Scent, not running around in the cave, right? Did you put in your complete MAC address, not a partial one...

Your target is :55 and you have a one second delay, so start the game at :54. It doesn't have to be precise at all - anywhere between 54 and 55 seconds is just fine. Have you watched this video yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4zNQH9cC3w
  14. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Correct. Personally, I think hatching flawless Pokemon is easier because I don't like messing with encounter slots. When you breed, though, you have to deal with inheritance, so you need good parents.
  15. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

There's probably a real explanation, but I don't know what it is, so maybe. It's what happened to me. Also, you can't press any buttons until the Game Freak screen (with the comet) which is significantly later than the one you mentioned before.
  16. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Nononono. You can't check your parameters with it plugged in either. The same thing happened to me when I was trying to find my parameters. Try a drastically different time - set your DS clock to a different day. Also, you can't press any buttons at all until the Game Freak screen (the one...
  17. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I can actually answer both of these questions at once. :) I only care about finding my starting PID frame when I'm messing with shinies, and since I've had absolutely no success in that area, I've given up for now. When I'm just going for IV's and nature, I find that it's more trouble than...
  18. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

The same questions are being asked over and over again about breeding, so I figured I'd type this up to try to help. This is based entirely upon my own experience, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and I'll edit this post. I'm positive this works, though, as I've been able to get...

I just double-checked the seed; it's correct. Although the first Rash frame I get is 219, not 217. Perhaps the difference in beta 4 and beta 5?
  20. 5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I'm getting some weird results while trying to find my starting PID frame. I'm attempting to breed for a shiny, but I need to figure out my starting frame first. (The shiny frame is frame 1792...ouch.) Method: Breeding (BW) Full Seed: 580A76FA9F741041 Everstone nature: Adamant ID: 51107 SID...
