  1. What Blissey Moveset you use the most

I run this Blissey set almost exclusivly now: Blissey@Leftovers 20 HP / 252 Def / 236 SpDef Bold (+Def, -Atk) Natural Cure -Seismic Toss -Aromatherapy -Sing -Softboiled Taunt / Substitute Gengar rape her, but it's not like a normal Blissey can do anything against them either. I rarely carry...
  2. Smogon Tournament #4 R1 || Predictions Up!

My opponent (locopoke) PM'd me and informed me that he can't battle due to Shoddy being somehow uninstalled from his computer, and it apparently won't let him download it again. He hasn't posted here yet so I figured I may as well do it, as I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do now.
  3. Smogon Tournament #4 Sign-ups

If there's room I'd like to participate.
  4. Which is your favourite type coverage duo?

I guess I go with Ice Beam / Thunderbolt, simply because I like OHKO'ing Salamence / Garchomp / Dragonite / Gyarados / Gliscor, ect. While Fighting / Ghost (or Dark) may be better, I don't hit as many big threats SE and therefore give them more oppurtunitys to switch into my team. Now, as for...
  5. The next batch of pokes we get...

I was thinking about a ability that disallows the use of Spikes / Stealth Rock when said pokemon was in play. This would make Rapid Spinners less of a nesescity for some people, and also make it much tougher for people to set Stealth Rock / Spikes / Toxic Spikes up (assuming something good got...
  6. Aldaron's war story: Olympic Glory (Aldaron) vs. Light

I hate spectators like that. It was a very good battle though, it was the first warstory that I actually read every turn of in a long time.
  7. Choice Scarf... its effects on the Metagame

Oh, I've run into some insane Choice Scarf users. Adamant Crobat, and once a I ran into a Jolly Crobat holding a Choice Scarf. The current metagame seems to have turned more away from both the offense and defense that it was, and seems to be more and more of a footrace, who outspeeds who. I...
  8. An animated battle for you!

Wow, amazing. I love Ambipom and Hitmonlee in the first, and Gengar and Porygon-Z in the second. I really can't describe this. I would follow the anime if it was like this.
  9. Are situational/gimick sets worth it?

I don't really think about gimmick sets anymore. When I'm building a team, I think about what I need, and what I already have on my team. If I need a specific job done (or a specific support move) I'll look up what can learn it / do it on Serebii, and fill the slot with the pokmon that fits my...
  10. What to do if...

Check and see what your opponent has left, and pick the option that will do the best against the most of his pokemon. Openings like this are all you need to set up a sweep with something that you wouldn't of normally been able to get in otherwise.
  11. Whats your FIRST favorite pokemon?

This gen it's definatly Azelf, then Porygon-Z. Way back in RBY it was a tossup between Raichu and Mew. I have a soft spot for the little pixie pokemon, I absolutly love D/P's trio.
  12. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

People seem to think Darkrai's Dark Void will break OU, and that's only 80% accurate. You can also run Flamethrower if you like, it's 100% accurate. Yes, they can come in more easily, but your post made it seem like you were saying Heatran and Salamence can keep coming in the entire battle...
  13. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

The main selling point of HP Electric would be to KO Gyarados and actually be able to do something of Tentacruel. It's a viable option since Infernape normally has trouble with those pokemon, which is why I included it.
  14. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

This set has 2 advantages over Nasty Plot varients. 1.) It get's more attacking moves and thus better type coverage. 2.) It doesn't need a turn of setup. Even with Nasty Plot, you may only 2HKO the pokemon your opponent switches in while they OHKO you. With Choice Specs, you'll hit your...
  15. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

It's actually not to hard to bring Infernape in on Ice Beam's, Will-O-Wisp's, or other resisted attacks. Granted, you can't keep doing this the whole battle (without Wish support anyways), but once Infernape is in, it's going to do some damage.
  16. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

Chou: Yea, unfortunatly that's Focus Blast's huge downfall Obi: Close Combat vs. 52 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 77.98% - 91.96% Focus Blast vs. 52 HP / 0 SpDef Heatran: 142.56% - 167.86% When I talk about sweeping late game, I'm actually being situational, (which I shouldn't be in a topic like...
  17. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

Thank you, I forgot to change it when I took Close Combat off. Phuquoph, that question is very difficult for me to answer because on paper, Close Combat IS better. The reason that I'm using Focus Blast is because I've used this set in many, many battles, and overall I've found Focus Blast to...
  18. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

......Except that most sweepers have choice item sets in their analysis's. Take a look at the Infernape analysis. See a Choice Specs set? Didn't think so. Smogon is supposed to be about competitave battling, and I posted a set that I have never seen that is very effective in competitave...
  19. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

Stealth Rock will make that a definate 2HKO. Also know that that's against a Bulky Gyarados, which not everyone runs. Stealth Rock makes it a definate 2HKO. Crisis: You're right, it is nitpicking. I had a problem with Blissey surviving Close Combat and my opponent switching into a physical...
  20. Discussion: Choice Specs Infernape, Nasty Plot isn't always better

What else does Close Combat handle better? Focus Blast (despite it's 70% accuracy) is better IMO because it will hit everything just as hard or harder than Close Combat. The only way Blissey is going to paralyze Infernape is if Focus Blast misses (which is a possibility, I'll admit) Also, I'd...
