In an effort to encourage more activity in the RoA room, I thought it could be fun for users to be able to bet on either the outcome of a game or the room tour and track their “profits” in that room like you would with the regular leaderboard.

Main goal would be to maintain interest in the tour for players that can’t compete into later rounds. If your Pokedollars are tied to the outcome of a match, I think it would help keep people engaged, and would be a fun extra bonus activity to do.

How it could work:

Every user just automatically has an initial amount of Pokedollars, say 1000. You can bet by typing /bet [number between 1-1000]. To keep things, I think just voting on the first place finisher makes the most sense. Maybe you recoup some funds if your pick reaches finals/semi finals.

Anyway, that’s the idea. Track Pokedollar winnings from Room Tour bets so that users not battling can still get involved in the competition/discussion. Hopefully this is both possible and not too difficult to do!

If you could un-reject this, the solution is pretty simple to your issue and is something Smogon already takes part in. And this is predictions. Basically take my idea, and take away the gambling portion of it.

If you win, I get 10 points or whatever for picking you. So with all of that said, please reconsider this with a blank slate, not clouded by the word “gamble”. Because I do get how that is an issue, not trying to just gloss over that.

Hecate I didn’t want to make a new post but can if needed

I mean even if this becomes a thing, it feels more like a bot thing (PS doesn't even have points as a concept)

No. This is a) still gambling (even without using the word), b) doesn't have much of a point, and c) consequently is not a good use of developer time. Put it on a bot, if you must.
