なに?! A noob posting his UU team?!

Yo, I'm Crazykid and this is my first RMT on Smogon.

Although I am new to UU and competitive battling in general, I really enjoy it. My first UU team has earned me quite the few wins, however, once I tested it in a realm that is more competitive such as here I got destroyed. Now I turn to you Smogonites to help me with my team. I need help especially regarding EV spreads, as well as team mate choices and movesets.

Without further ado, here is my UU team:

The Setup
Spr_5b_386D.png

Deoxys-D @ Mental Herb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/ 4 Sp. Def
Nature: Impish
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Recover
Synergy Check:
GhostIC_Big.png
x0 Snorlax/0.5x Cobalion
DarkIC_Big.png
x0.25 Cobalion
BugIC_Big.png
x0.25 Cobalion/ x0.5 Rotom-H/Mismagius

Deo-D is a monster. Which this set, Deoxys can get taunted by other leads and shrug it off with Mental Herb and proceed to Thunder Wave and taunt on the next turn, which leads to one or two free Spike layers. Deo-D also can outspeed Donphan and taunt him on the first turn. Defensive investment is for taking U-turns from Deo's only true threat in this tier - Ambipom. I need help and suggestions for this guys EV spread.

Cradily @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp. Def
Nature: Bold/Relaxed
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Recover/Earthquake
- Energy Ball
Synergy Check:
FightingIC_Big.png
x0 Mismagius
BugIC_Big.png
x0.25 Cobalion/ x0.5 Rotom-H/Mismagius
IceIC_Big.png
x0.5 Rotom-H/Cobalion/Snorlax
SteelIC_Big.png
x0.25 Rotom-H/ x0.5 Cobalion

Cradily is the second phase in setting up my floor traps. The rest of its set involves Toxic stalling. Energy Ball for STAB that can be boosted by Storm Drain and Recover is for reliable recovery. Unfortunately Stealth Rocks and Giga Drain are illegal together with Storm Drain. Cradily completely walls CroCune and can take boosted Ice Beams from non-Sleep Talk Suicunes.

The Core

Spr_5b_638.png

Cobalion @ Life Orb
EVs: 252 Attack/252 Speed/ 4 HP
Ability: Justified
Nature: Jolly
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor

Synergy Check:
FightingIC_Big.png
x0 Mismagius
GroundIC_Big.png
x0 Mismagius/Rotom-H
FireIC_Big.png
x0.5 Rotom-H/Snorlax

Cobalion is a godsend to UU. One of the major versatile threats in the tier is a physical attacker that sets up with Swords Dance in my team. With 108 Base Speed, Jolly max Speed Cobalion outspeeds most of the non-scarfed tier besides Aerodactyl, Jolteon, Crobat, and plus-speed natured Raikou (which is common). Close Combat is his standard attack of choice. Stone Edge allows Cobalion to attack slower Fire Types and Flying types in general super effectively and Ghost types neutrally. X-Scissor allows Cobalion to destroy Psychic types and hit Grass types.

Spr_5b_429.png

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed/ 4 HP
-Nasty Plot
-Substitute
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power (Fighting)
Synergy Check:
GhostIC_Big.png
x0 Snorlax/x0.5 Cobalion
DarkIC_Big.png
x0.25 Cobalion

Mismagius is the special attack powerhouse of UU. She is able to set up and is walled by no Pokemon except Chansey. Nasty Plot to boost her special attack, substitute on predicted status moves and Shadow Ball and HP Fighting for unresisted coverage.

Spr_5b_143.png

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
Nature: Careful
EVs: 188 HP / 104 Def / 216 Sp. Def
- Return
- Crunch
- Curse
- Rest
Synergy Check:
FightingIC_Big.png
x0 Mismagius

Oh, Curelax. Snorlax is a beast, no doubt. Without any Attack investment, he is still a powerhouse with his 110 Base Attack. He is my solid enemy Mismagius counter, he can come in on a Nasty Plot and Crunch, then proceed to survive a +2 LO HP Fighting from Modest Mismagius and KO Missy with a subsequent Crunch. Curse to boost Snorlax's weak Defense and increase his Attack. Rest to ignore Toxic/WoW/etc. and grab boosts from Curse.

REVENGE!!
Spr_5b_479O.png

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed/ 4 HP
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
- Overheat
- Volt Switch/Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power (Grass)
- Trick
Synergy Check:
RockIC_Big.png
x.025 Cobalion
WaterIC_Big.png
x0 Cradily (Storm Drain)

Rotom-H is one of the best revenge killers in UU. Timid nature to outspeed Jolly Heracross and to be able to come into a Megahorn and either hit anything hard with an Overheat or just plain OHKO Heracross. Volt Switch to gain match-up advantages and HP Grass to be able to hit Ground and Rock types super effectively. Trick to cripple opposing Pokes. Which is more useful on this set? Thunderbolt or Volt Switch?

So what do you think? That is my UU team in a nutshell, please comment as all criticisms and suggestions will be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

ugh, so many problems

Replace t-wave with Magic Coat/Taunt on deo

E-Quake over Knock Off on Donphan

Snolax is as slow as fuck and makes a better set up sweeper instead, if you insist on using your moveset on lax' than put a choice band on it, otherwise use this set

Snorlax @leftovers
Careful Nature
188 HP 104 DEF 216 SPD
Ability: Thick Fat
-Curse
-Body Slam / Return
-Earthquake / Crunch / Fire Punch
-Rest / Selfdestruct

My final problem with this team is it's lack of resistances.....Rating: 4/10

Can you please explain your changes? I also already have taunt on Deo, why should I get rid of Thunder Wave? Shouldn't I invest more into attack on Donphan if I would run EQ?

What do you mean lack of resistances? The only thing that is not resisted is Water, which can be offensively checked.

Srry bout' the deo set, I didn't see taunt on the thing. Just about every donphan should run E-Quake. When I say lack of resistances, I mean that your actual type couters are weak (I.E Rotom-H is 2KO'ed by a scarfraptor's brave bird)

Snorlax has to take special hits, because he has no way of boosting his spd stat, if he had 128 spd ev's, than neutral special attacks would 2HKO him

Any fighting type pokemon can KO snorlax even after a few boost, most noteably heracross. You also have to worry about strong, stab special attacks, and of course the occasional crit. Since snorlax has to wait 2 turns to recover from rest, he also becomes setup bait, other than that, snorlax pwns. If you don't like snorlax, than try miltank, she has instant recovery (milk drink) and stat recovery (heal bell), but she has lower stats than lax'.

Well, I wouldn't stay in on Heracross tbh. On predicted Close Combats, there's always Mismagius, on predicted Megahorns Rotom can take it and outspeed it as well.

If you want to check Water deffensively, replace Donphan ( I know you won't like it ) and use [Insert Counter Here] like Cradily. Or something.

I'm not really much experienced in UU but... You need something to defend yourself from bulky and offensive water types. Scarf Heracross and CroCune sets are one of the problem to your teams like big time. Chansey is also gonna make sure you get annoyed like crazy and especially if they are combined with another Deoxys-D in their team.

You may want to replace Snorlax for something like a Zapdos maybe or a strong physical attacker to deal with the job. Also, your Cradily can't wall CroCune once they find a perfect switch-in and setup on you and that is where you need to brace yourself and Trick 'em with your Rotom. Others are pretty much all fine.

Well, CroCune only carries water attacks (Scald or Surf), which Cadily absorbs, it's Ice Beam carrying Suicune I'm more worried about, which I may have to resort to Tricking dual attacking Suicune with the Scarf.

Rotom-H is Timid so he can outspeed Scarf Heracross, however you're right. I need good prediction to out do an enemy Heracross.

Snorlax is used to against enemy Mismagius which are plenty, however I may switch my own Mismagius' nature so it is Timid in lieu of it's current Modest nature to outspeed other Mismagius.

If I were to use Zapdos, I would lose a physical attacker, making the ever prevalent Chansey even more of a nuisance to my team.

Snorlax is also one of my team's better Specially Defensive walls.

On more thing, for the deo spread use 252 HP 252 SPE and 4 DEF with a timid nature. His max spe is 306 which can outspeed some sweepers. And BTW deo doesn't need any def investments because both of his def stats are in the 300's.

Been trying out this team on PO. Haven't had much problems against Suicune. But yeah as I said, the smarter Heracross player has me on my toes.

Bump. Still need some advice.

I'd run Volt Switch over Thunderbolt actually. Sure, lower power may hurt, but Volt Switch allows you to scout for the opponent's Rotom counter, which always helps.
