THE GREAT WALL OF... STEELIX

208.png

Steelix@leftovers
Sassy
252 Hp / 4 Attack / 252 Sp.Defense

Earthquake
Gyro Ball
Stealth Rock
Roar

Steelix takes the brunt of physical attacks aimed at my team. Earthquake is really good STAB, coming off of 207 attack which is not at all bad for something that is mostly meant to take hits. Roar is a temporary solution to Curse Registeel, and Curse Umbreon which I think is a threat to almost any team. Stealth Rock is self explanatory, and possibly one of the best moves in the game, imo. Gyro Ball hits Ghosts that threaten my team, doing a minimum of 79% which is useful, it also does upwards of 32 precent to Rotom, and is overall just a good STAB move.

THE DEAN OF MEAN KEITH JAR-......HONCHCROW

430.png

Honchcrow@Life Orb
Adamant
252 Attack / 4 defense / 252 Speed

Brave Bird
Sucker Punch
Super Power
Roost

My main physical sweeper, Honch is capable of ripping through teams, 1 or 2 hit ko'ing like everything. Brave Bird is a the main STAB move, coming off 125 base attack, even things that resist are going to have trouble repeatedly switching in. Sucker Punch is the next STAB providing the ever so useful priority. Super Power is great for all the normal types in UU while also hitting the 4 steel types in UU while also damaging Regirock. Roost, although debatable has proven useful, regaining HP from all of the recoil Honch takes, along with SR and other weather. Overall, Honch has proved very useful. (The real dean of mean is Keith Jardine :b)

MISTA SPINNA

237.png

Hitmontop@Leftovers
Adamant
252 Hp / 252 Attack / 4 Defense

Close Combat
Rapid Spin
Sucker Punch
Foresight

The Spinner. At first I tested the classic technitop, but Spikes and Toxic Spikes wreck this team, seeing as four are hit by Spikes, and 3 are hit by TS. Hitmontop also deters Chansey, allowing my Special Sweepers to sweep more effectivly. Foresight almost ensures that I can spin which is essential against Stall which, of course Stall utilizes. Sucker Punch can help against Mag and Froslass, should I predict right.

THE BULKY WATER

3502.png

Milotic@Leftovers
Modest
252 Hp / 252 Special Attack / 4 Speed

Surf
Hidden Power [Grass]
Ice Beam
Recover

The obligatory bulky water. Lefties helps with survivability with all of these entry hazards running around with so many people running UU stall and with Froslass in UU, hail stall has been running rampant. Most people expect her to not pack much of a punch but with Max Sp.Atk, she really does. Surf for STAB Ice Beam blasts grasses for super effective damage, and absolutely wrecks Altaria. HP [Grass] is for hitting waters. This helps to check Gatr and Slowbro who are pretty big threats.

THE SPECIAL SWEEPERS

2432.png

Raikou@Life Orb
Timid
4 Hp / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed

Thunderbolt
Hidden Power [Water]
Extrasensory
Calm Mind

The straight up offensive Raikou. This set has proved more useful then the more defensive booster, since it packs much more of a punch before any boosts. Bolt is for STAB, HP [Water] takes out ground types, like Donphan and Steelix, although I lose coverage on Quag, the rest of my team can pick that up. Extrasensory tags Saur and other poisons. Two special sweepers, usually, I use it after Mismagius, because she can set up much faster. Raikous is quite possibly far too broken for UU.

429-1.png

Mismagius@Life Orb
Timid
4 Hp / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed
Levitate

Shadow Ball
Thunder Bolt
Nasty Plot
Destiny Bond

This is THUND's Mismagius set, and I think he said it best:
Pretty simple. Nasty Plot up and fuck things up with Shadow Ball/Thunderbolt. Works greats on heavy offensive teams. Destiny Bond is for those pokemon that won't be OHKO'd by a +2 move, but it's your best bet if you're not good at prediction for handling Honchkrow/Absol, and it fucks over Mixdoom who thinks he's getting a free kill.
This really has been useful for getting rid of Honchcrow which can rip through almost any team, and, if Honch is already gone, I can maybe set up a sweep.

I stole this from Flamewheeler, who, I guess stole from Bluewind, who got it from Heysup. :D

Defensive Threats

Blastoise – Milotic can generally come in and threaten with Hidden Power, and Raikou for sure.
Chansey – Hitmontop, Honchcrow
Claydol – Honch, Milotic,Mismagius
Clefable – Honch, Top
Cloyster – Cloyster can be mean, Top can CC, but if it doesn't KO I could face and Explosion, Same with Milotic, Mag can T-Bolt, but Rock Blast+Ice Shard is damaging.
Cradily – Top, or if it's weakened, Honch and Super Power/BB
Lapras – Top, Raikou
Mesprit – Mag can sort of check, Can can come in on Psychic/SR and BB/Sucker Punch
Milotic – Raikou, Some times Milotic, Honch can revenge.
Miltank – Top can CC, Thick Fat versions I send in Mag
Nidoqueen – Milotic mainly,
Quagsire – Milotic, Raikou has HP [Grass]
Regirock – Milotic, Top, in dire situations, Honch can Super Power
Registeel – Top Steelix
Rotom – Mag can revenge Scarfless ones, If I predict right Honch can take it. Without wisp, Steelix does a good job to.
Slowbro – Raikou, Milotic, Mag
Spiritomb – Mag can 2 hit with a plot, but, thats not very good, seeing as Sucker Punch+Shadow Sneak kills me, Honch can BB. This thing is a nuisance
Umbreon – Honch, Top
Uxie – Mag, Steelix can take physcial ones, Honch doesn't mind this at all.
Weezing - Milotic almost likes wisp, and can pound it with surfs.
.......

Offensive Threats

Absol – Without Psycho Cut, Top. It can be scary though.
Alakazam – Honch mostly, once again can be scary
Altaria – Honch can Sucker Punch, Milotic
Ambipom – Steelix mostly, if it has Low kick that can be bad, I just have to predict correctly
Arcanine – Milotic mostly, Top can intimidate.
Azumarill – Milotic, Raikou can take non sub variants
Blaziken – Milotic, Raikou can Tbolt it, should it not be scarfed
Drapion – Mainly Steelix, Top helps to
Feraligatr – Milotic+Priority
Froslass – Mag can take the slower variants, but, otherwise, this thing can be a pain
Gallade – Honch, sort of, Raikou is faster and can kill it in a last ditch effort.
Hariyama – Honch, Milotic can do pretty well too, especially if it's statused
Hitmonlee – Mainly Honch, Top can lower attack and CC if needed
Hitmontop – Milotic can take a couple hits, Mag is good against thoughs with out Sucker Punch
Honckrow – Steelix I'm pretty sure is 3 hit KO'd by Super power, but can't do much back SR helps wear it down too.
Houndoom – Milotic
Kabutops – Milotic Raikou
Kangaskhan – Top is alright against it, other priority.
Leafeon – Steelix can take hits, but can do much in return, Other faster stuff can help pick it up
Magmortar – Milotic is decent against scarf, if I predict right, I use priority otherwise.
Medicham – Mag can help shadow ball those that aren't scarfed, or if it's locked into Brick Break
Mismagius – Top can Sucker Punch, Raikou can revenge
Moltres – Milotic
Nidoking – Milotic is good against it, Raikou can revenge
Omastar – Milotic Mag, sortof
Raikou – Raikou is pretty mean to this team, I use priority and Steelix kind of.
Rhyperior – Milotic, Raikou can revenge
Scyther – Mostly I use priority and Steelix
Swellow – Steelix
Tauros – Steelix, Mag can come in on CB, seeing as it is immune to half of its attacks
Torterra – Honch or Priority against RP ones
Typhlosion – Milotic.
Ursaring – Raikou and Mag can pick off guts, priority for Quick Feet. Raikou can still pick it off though
Venusaur – Honch mostly Mag can pick it off with Shadow Ball

Hey Godsend, looks like a pretty solid team. However on your Steelix it seems to be your only check to Raikou. I think giving it more Special Defense EVs would help there.

Steelix @ Leftovers | Sturdy
Sassy | 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Earthquake / Gyro Ball / Stealth Rock / Roar

I see Gyro Ball to be much more beneficial then Crunch. With 0 Speed IVs and a Sassy nature it reaches a Speed stat of 58. Now lets see some calculations against Ghost Pokemon.

207 Atk vs. 4 HP Timid Rotom
32.23% - 38.02%
207 Atk vs. 4 HP Timid Mismagius
79.01% - 93.13%

Now as for Raikou I believe changing Hidden Power Grass to Hidden Power Water would be much more beneficial. It hits Donphan, Rhyperior, and Steelix, who would wall your Mismagius (although Destiny Bond can take it down however I think it would be pretty nice to use) for the price of 1 less Speed point. I see Quagsire to have a hard time with Honchkrow, Milotic, and +2 Mismagius. So it seems like a fair trade off to me. Spiritomb is still a pretty big threat indeed. Raikou can set up on special versions without Calm Mind if that makes it better but I might look into it later.

Hope I helped!

You could consider and Iron Ball for Steelix so he can do tremendous amounts of damage with Gyro Ball, though the lack of recovery may prove to be too costly. I've used it and was impressed by it. I believe a Speed reducing nature and no Speed EV's puts his Speed low enough for Gyro Ball to be base 150, and with STAB that is a powerful move.

I second the idea of changing Raikou's HP Grass to HP Water. Milotic already has HP Grass for Swampert/Quagsire so Raikou could use another move to widen his sweeping range.

Thank you for the sugestions, They seem very useful. It does seem like mostly Steelix would need to break Rotoms sub to actually force it out, so I like the Gyro ball, and it does massive damage to Mag. I'm keeping Lefties though, because I don't have any Wish support, and he can't heal himself otherwise. I also like the Hp[Water] on Raikou, hitting pretty much the same pokes but with the added bonus of being able to hit fire types for super effective.

HP Grass vs. HP Water on Raikou is your call, as both have their ups and downs (but Thunderbolt against Fire types not named Camerupt). However, you should definitely replace Shadow Ball, as its uses over Thunderbolt and Hidden Power are fairly limited. Rotom isn't doing much to hurt you without Thunder Wave, in which case Steelix can beat it, so I think you would be better off with either Extrasensory or Signal Beam instead. Extrasensory hits Venusaur and the Nidos hard, whilst Signal Beam hurts other Grass types such as Torterra and Tangrowth. Again it's a toss-up, but both are far superior options to Shadow Ball IMO.

Spiritomb isn't that big a threat to this team. Boosting ResTalkers are dealt with using Honchkrow and Hitmontop, whilst Milotic can deal with most other variants. The one set that could cause some trouble is one with Calm Mind + WoW + Rest, as your physical Pokemon can only come in and force it out so many times if at all, and they all lack recovery. It is a rare set, but in order to deal with it reliably you may have to consider Haze over Ice Beam on Milotic.

I put Extrasensory>Shadow ball, and it has been useful. I will test Haze>Ice beam on Milotic, but then it will completely lose to grass types, allowing them to switch in for free. Speaking of grass types, I've noticed recently, that I am somewhat weak to Specs Sceptile, as Leaf Storm can 2HKO Honch, which is my only resist. I'm not exactly sure what to do about it though, any suggestions?

Ok, if you're going to run haze over ice beam on milotic, I would go with a more defensive spread of 252 HP/ 242 Def/16 Spd with a bold nature. I just don't think haze would work quite as well with such an offensive spread. For your new found SpecsTile weakness, I have 2 suggestions. One would be to make hitmontop a Techitop, only because he's spinning for one poke, who has a recovery move.

Suggestion 1:

Hitmontop (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch
- Mach Punch
- Fake Out

Suggestion 2 would be a venusaur, who takes sceptile's moves with relative ease, thanks to his 4x weakness to grass type moves and juts adds some extra bulk. I would suggest my set that I posted in RMT because it has worked wonders for me, but I think you should go a little more defensive, since you don't want him dying anytime soon. This was a set suggested to me my Itsuki, that i think could serve you well.

Suggestion 2:

Venusaur (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Sludge Bomb
- Sleep Powder
- Synthesis
- Power Whip

Well, good luck with the team and I hope I helped!

Edit:
At first I tested the classic technitop, but Spikes and Toxic Spikes wreck this team
I just seen this line xD. Well, at least venusaur will give you a Tspikes absorber.

So, you are suggesting Venusaur>Top or what? And, I have faced that Saur set, it catces me off gaurd every time. I dig it.
