SM OU 1953 top 30 heat – my sun team!

This is the 2nd team I am posting today. I present you the some flames: a sun team!

Yay!!

Initially, I built this team around Torkoal+Venusaur+Victreebell, but the team was being destroyed by stall. So Victini came as an obvious choice over Victreebell – and man, what a great choice.

I also put my usual Lead Diancie+eject button Pex combo. You can never have enough SR on your team, and 2 SRs seemed the way to go. Also, as I’ve said before, I consider M-Diancie the best lead in OU.

Lastly, I tried TR and SG Magearna to be a late game sweeper, but it didn’t work. Heatran was a problem and running focus blast was unreliable. I also lacked ground immunity. Thus, I brought offensive Celesteela, the beast, and it worked amazingly.

Plus, no tapulucha combo, so hooray!

And here is proof of rank:

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Substitute
- Endeavor

When I first faced this set, I considered it to be sheer shit. Honestly. But, man, was I wrong. This is basically an improved lead Nape. A lead Nape that doesn't need taunt, that scares M-Sableye and stall in general. Imo, it is the best lead in the game and people still don’t know how to deal with this mon.

To sum it up, get your SR, subs until you are 1HP or so, and endeavor. Watch out for ghost types comming, predicting the Endeavor. If you get the 50/50 right, you can moonblast a ghost to the face.

This, before mega evolves, can take Lando-Ts EQ even from offensive Lando-Ts, aside from adamant/earth plate/life orb/crit. Basically, it can take most EQs and AV Magearnas iron heads.

252+ Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 272-324 (89.4 - 106.5%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
0 Atk Magearna Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 232-280 (76.3 - 92.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So, yeah, it's a lead mon that can annoy the opponent, specially stall. IT is great v. webs and can deal more for the team other than set up SRs.

Toxapex @ Eject Button
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic/Toxic Spikes
- Haze
- Recover

Pex is the glue of the team. I love this lead diancie+pex combo so much, since Pex allows me to scout for sets, while also granting me momentum with eject button.

The set is self-explanatory.
Since there are so many Kartanas, Clef, Pex and other hazard removers, I prefer to run Toxic, but that is up to you.
Spdef is to counter Ash-ninja and Blacephalon.

Celesteela @
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Autotomize
The last piece in this team, Celesteela is a decent sweeper, but what makes it great is the fact that it is gimmicky. Acrobatics is pretty strong, Celesteela doesn’t fear Lando-T, heavy slam is also broken. Earthquake is to bait Heatran. Sometimes, even Zard or Volcarona will try to set up on Celesteela, only to get destroyed by acrobatics after SR.
Again, it is decent, it is a ground immunity, it hits hard.

180376

Victini @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-Create
- U-turn
- Bolt Strike
- Energy Ball/Brick Break/Trick

The bane of stall’s existence. And of balance teams as well, to some extent. But stall can’t deal with Bandtini. And we have lead Diancie to raise the odds in our favor.
Standard set, not much to be said. U-turn allows us to pivot v. counters, mainly Ttar and heatran, though it is often a good idea to damage Teatran with Bolt Strike.
As for the 4th slot, it is up to you. I like Energy Ball + a naïve nature, to catch Pert on the switch in, but brick break and trick both work fine.

180377

Torkoal @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def /8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earth Power/Toxic
- Lava Plume
Torkoal is mandatory to set our weather. I chose it over Ninetales to make the team less weak to scarf Lando, because Torkoal can spin hazards and so on. It is a good defensive mon, with good base def.
Earth Power, because we really need to damage Heatran; Lava Plume as a great STAB. One could use Toxic, but then you are just really weak to Heatran.

180378

Venusaur @ Poisonium Z/Grassium Z
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 72 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Naive Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Solar Beam/Energy Ball
- Earthquake
- Growth
Standard SunSaur, with EQ over HP fire to beat Heatran, mainly, but it helps v. Pex. growth to wallbreak better, solar beam for sheer power, but one could use energy ball, honestly. I like SBeam to damage stuff such as Fini and Lando harder.
Z-Poison helps us v. unaware Clef, Zard and so on, whereas Z-Grass can help us bait other mons when there is no sun. I prefer Z-Poison.

180380

Weather teams, for obvious reasons.

180381

Pex is hard to deal with, specially without Victini.

180382

Heatran is hard to deal with, specially balloon Trans. Ferro+Tran can be the most annoying combo for Venusaur.

180383

Tapu Koko, since we have no electric immunities, nor do we have Tapus to change the terrain.

180384

M-Zam can often destroy us.

Unfortunately, the replays I do have are of me losing to stall. Lol, yes. Oh well.

But here are 2 nice games:

Team overview

The team is fun, and the best part is it destroys stall (though I have recently lost a game after talking shit to the opponent).

Sun is not common, which makes the team cooler (or should I way heat-er). And I think it is nice to see weather teams other than rain teams shining.

So, yeah, enjoy the team and have a good day!

Hi - I'm locking your RMT for the time being since you're only allowed to post one team every two weeks. This is stated in the forum rules. I'll reopen this thread on June 27th upon request.
