Hey guys, I just started competitive battling recently. This is the first team I built and played with. I've used it for a while on Pokemon online, but I'm not sure how to improve on it.
Mienshao (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Hi Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
This is my anti-lead. It uses fake out to break sashes and then hits with powerful STAB Hi Jump Kick. Stone Edge and U-turn for flying and psychics. Regenerator allows it to regain a good chunk of hp each time I switch it out. It struggles with ghosts, which is why I included Hydreigon.
Milotic (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Dragon Tail
- Ice Beam
- Recover
It's a pretty effective wall. With really solid stats in both physical and special, it can take almost any unboosted hit and recover off the damage. Scald for burning physical threats. Ice beam for dragon coverage. Dragon tail for phazing.
Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Motor Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Brick Break
- ThunderPunch
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
With motor drive, electivire can switch in off of pokemon trying to hit milotic or archeops super effectively with electric moves, or pokemon that rely on paralysis from thunder wave. It can then hit back with its wide variety of coverage moves.
Hydreigon (M) @ White Herb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Surf
This is mainly used to complement the mienshao with its good coverage against ghost types. With a modest nature, it reaches 383 SpA, allowing it to deliver a devastating draco meteor. With white herb, it gets two shots. Hydreigon's defenses are solid enough to survive at least one turn.
Archeops (M) @ Flight Gem
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Acrobatics
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Protect
Kind of a glass cannon. I usually only bring this out late game after I've taken down the other team's walls. With adamant nature, archeops reaches 416 attack. With the edge quake combo and a 247 power acrobatics, it can easily finish off a weakened team.
Espeon (F) @ Light Clay
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
The key supporter of this team. I know this team doesn't use entry hazards or rapid spin support, but this is my solution for it. Magic Bounce causes the opponent's status moves to be reflected back on their field. Therefore, I can switch this thing in on predictable entry hazard users like aerodactyl and ferrothorn and accomplish blocking hazards and setting them up in one fell swoop. It also has dual screens for additional support. Hidden Power fire to severely dent ferrothorn and forretress. psyshock to hit special walls.
