1st Trick Room Team

I recently learned about Trick Room teams and the potential that they possess so i thought to myself why not give it a shot. I'm open to any suggestions, rather it be completely new pokemon or different moves. Thanks in advance :D

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Nature: Sassy
Ability: Trace
252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 Sp Defense
Trick Room
Recover
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

Porygon2 is here because he can take pretty much any hit in the game... Brick Breaks are quite pathetic against him and if my other two trick roomers aren't looking like a good choice, Porygon2 never fails me. The part about him that really appealed to me and made me put him in is the fact that he can shut down shadow balls and other ghost moves. Also for a good majority of my time playing pokemon i ran a porygon-z and he never let me down... so i dont think that porygon2 will either. :]

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Nature: Brave
Ability: Pressure
252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 Sp Defense
Trick Room
Will-O-Wisp
Pain Split
Earthquake

Dusknoir is in because he was one of the only ghost types I found who could use trick room and were bulky. He can take a few hits and then heal with pain split. Will-o-wisp also cripples a lot of physical attackers who try to set up. For this reason i usually save him until i see a physcial sweeper like gyrados. I began to notice that my team was easy bait for physical sweepers to just set up with either sword dance or dragon dance... not anymore. One will-o-wisp pretty much shuts down any chance they have at sweeping.

Bronzong @ Macho Brace
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Levitate
252 HP / 252 Sp Defense 4/ Defense
Trick Room
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Explosion

Bronzong is my usual lead because he can survive pretty much every hit. I have him because he's the only guy that is really 100% reliable for setting up trick room. No one really seems to want to taunt Bronzong because most of them wont be able to survive a gyro ball to the face.. and i dont blame them. With a macho brace gyro ball becomes a really deadly move. He shrugs off overheats with a chunk of health left and then proceeds to spam gyro balls and earthquakes and then eventually explosion. Bronzong has great typing and that alone is enough reason for him to have a spot on my team.

Jellicent @ Life Orb
Nature: Quiet
Ability: Cursed Body
252 HP / 252 Sp Attack / 4 Def
Trick Room
Recover
Surf
Shadow Ball

Scizor @ Iron Ball
Nature: Adament
Ability: Technician
252 HP / 252 Attack / 4 Sp Defense
Sword Dance
Bullet Punch
Brick Break
Fling

Scizor is pretty much my secret weapon at the end of the game... I usually save him for if i cant set up trick room anymore or when I've taken care of everyone who has a fire move. While trick room is up I usually go for one or two sword dances and then either fling the iron ball or use brick break. But after it ends, I almost always use bullet punch as it destroys a good amount of pokemon who dont resist it. I liked the idea of scizor because he has so many resistances... If the opponent doesn't have a fire move he can be pretty annoying to deal with.

machamp.gif

Machamp @ Life Orb
Nature: Lonely
Ability: No Guard
252 HP / 252 Attack / 4 Defense
Dynamic Punch
Thunder Punch
Ice Punch
Fire Punch

Machamp is a great addition to any team thanks to the elemental punches and his 100% accurate dynamicpunch. He also doesn't really need trick room to be effective... that's why i usually use him when I can't put up trick room anymore or if Marowak and Octillery aren't doing work. Once he's out i pretty much just spam Dynamic Punch unless one of the elemental punches are super effective.

Octillery is usually my go to guy once i get trick room up... He can't really take a hit, but he usually doesn't need too since water spout OHKOs a lot of pokemon who aren't bulky... He's also pretty sturdy and can usually take 2 or 3 hits before dying
Either he's bulky or he isn't, which is it?

Reuniclus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Focus Blast

What's not to love about that?

Have you tried Guts on Machamp, Guts has an advantage in trick room because it doesn't waste any turns, provided you actually burn/poison it before setting up twisted dimensions. If you do, make sure to give it Close Combat instead of Dynamic Punch, and if you don't know what I mean by wasting turns I can explain it more thoroughly in another post.

Please fix the Sprite for Porygon 2 (its Porygon-Z atm)

Another Plausible Trick Roomer you could replace Dusknoir with is Victini. Here's the set I use:

Victini @ Life Orb
Trait: Victory Star
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- V-create
- Fusion Bolt
- Final Gambit

No comment on the combo of Final Gambit and Life Orb.

Have you tried specs on Octillery, seems like it would benefit. If you want to replace it Heatran can do the same thing with Eruption, and if I was going to put Reuniclus on I would definitely put it in Octillery's spot.

I hope Something out of that mess helps,
Invalid

one things i don't understand: why not an adamant or brave marowak instead of a naughty one? the same is for machamp. for replaced octillery i think jellicent isn't a bad idea:
Jellycent@ Wacan Berry/ leftovers
quiet/calm nature
ability cursed body
evs 252 ps 252 spdefense 4 def / 252 HP 164 def 92 spd
ivs 0 vel
moveset
surf/hydro pump/ water spout
will-o-wisp/toxic
recover
trick room/ice beam/ shadow ball

if you need another trick room user choose trick room. ice beam has more accuracy than blizzard and it coverage more types than shadow ball. you can use water spout until you have high hp. surf may be choosed for more accuracy and for the STAB and hydro pump for more power.

I got the reuniclus set you recommended and i switch it in and out with dusknoir every once in a while.

as for victini i don't use legendaries :/

Went with jellicent ovder octillery. thanks :]

anymore recommendations?

I suggest you make your Scizor and Machamp Brave. Brave lowers Speed, and you want your Pokemon to be as slow as possible so they're faster under Trick Room.

Also make your Bronzong Brave to increase its speed under Trick room, and increase the power of its Gyro Ball.

Hi there, i suggest you change Machamp's set to this:

Machamp@ Life Orb/Choice Band
Brave, 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
No Guard
-DynamicPunch
-Bullet Punch
-Ice Punch
-Earthquake/Stone Edge

All the Elemental Punches seemed useless. Keep Ice Punch, add Bullet Punch for priority. DynamicPunch for STAB and EQ or SE for coverage, while Stone Edge benefits from the No Guard boost.

Also, change Scizors nature to Brave as well to benefit TR. Change Iron Ball to Choice Band or LO and with that change Fling to Bug Bite or Uturn to have a good STABmove.

Then, instead of Explosion on Bronzgong put Stealth Rock. Entry Hazards are always nice...

I agree with some of the above saying Dusknoir should be replaced with Reuni. Very good i idea i think, it's a great poke. It's up to you to actually put TR on him though, as CM+Recover+PsychBlast works very well.

Hope i helped,

Cap'n

EDIT: i didnt see No. 1 posting the brave thingy. i'm sorry

Stone Edge over Fire Punch for Machamp.

Also, needs more Dusclops. Excellent TR supporter with great bulk via Eviolite. Yes, Dusclops. Not that shit called Dusknoir.
