With the 1v1 metagame moving towards Dragon / Fairy / Steel teams, Assault Vest Zygarde has shot up in usage due to it being a Dragon-type that can handle many of the popular Fairy-types running around. Zygarde sacrifices its amazing ability to set up for immense special bulk with Assault Vest, which is even further bolstered in its Complete forme. Thousand Arrows is useful against foes like Celesteela and Zapdos. Skitter Smack bolsters Zygarde's Special Defense even further by helping against a plethora of potent special attackers. It, in conjunction with Iron Tail, can be used to take on popular Fairy-types such as Togekiss and Tapu Lele. While Zygarde is incredibly bulky, it often can struggle with super effective physical attacks from foes like Avalugg, Regidrago, and Haxorus. By sacrificing its ability to set up with Assault Vest, Zygarde can also be taken advantage of by setup sweepers such as Galarian Zapdos and Tapu Fini. All these factors make Pokemon such as Tapu Fini and Volcanion great partners for Zygarde.

Thousand Arrows is the STAB move of choice,(RC) also catching the likes of is useful against foes like Celesteela and Zapdos. Skitter Smack bolsters Zygarde's Special Defense even further,(RC) by helping against a plethora of potent special attackers.(examples?) It, in conjunction with Iron Tail, can be used to take on many of the popular Fairy-types roaming around such as Togekiss and Tapu Lele.
