Want to see top 1v1 players go up against each other outside of PL? You're in luck!
Welcome to 1v1 Fight Nights, a periodic 1v1 forum event where challengers face off in a high stakes best of 5
Each best of 5 fight will be between high profile players with the goal of creating a space to see hype games on a regular basis

The date and time of each fight will be announced here beforehand and the 1v1 Room on Pokemon Showdown! will serve as a spectator chat for the series.

This will serve as a discussion thread for current and future matchups, feel free to post memes / funny gif moments
The plan is to have 2 matches every other week or so, with 1 old gen match and 1 SV match, but both of these are flexible based on community demand / the number of people who step up to play

General guidelines for being featured:
- Ideally, participants have some sort of reputation, whether that's for deep individual tournament runs, good team tournament performances, wild teambuilding, a competitive personality, or some mix of any of these
- Anyone with a current discord / forum / PS punishment (such as an infraction, ban, lock, tournament ban, etc) won't be able to participate until after it expires
- Participants will need to agree to be featured

After being on hold for PL (and maybe some extra time too), we've returned with a new fight that you will enjoy watching!

Huge thanks to SwordIsBored for co-hosting and Itchy for all the help, and without further ado, let's reveal the fight!

We will be back... at some point I don't even know when lmao.

I do want to say though, we are looking for new Fight Nights hosts! If you are someone new to hosting and you're able to organize one or two fights, feel free to DM me on Discord or Smogon and I will give you permission to announce it.

As a fellow Hellfire Heatrans, I'm confident that prunny will have taken all the info about sv 1v1 from their time in pl and translate it well into this format.
Also, hoopa-unbound isnt available here, so not even their Hyperspace Horrors opponent should be able to make a gif-fable moment from their series. Probably.

UwU1v1 vs recti

I honestly never seen or watched CAP before, so going with the tier leader on this.

gorilaa vs pqs

Definitely going with the goat gorilaa. Any gen or format, as long as its bo7, I have faith in gorilaa to run circles around whomever their facing. Will be my highlight match out of the three, as pqs's enthusiam and knowledge of NatDex has been shown through their dedication of rallying for its acknowledgement prior to this year's 1v1 WC. Looking forward to seeing if this series will provide additional support for those in favor of this format integrating into WC.
