Sitrus Berry is vital, as it provides Manaphy with a second opportunity to boost. Scald is preferred for its high initial power and the ability to inflict burns on the likes of Donphan and Scizor, as well as for providing good damage against Skeledirge. Alternatively, Stored Power is an option to break through setup sweepers such as Calm Mind Sylveon lacking Fake Tears as well as defensive Pokemon such as stall Azumarill and Volcanion. Manaphy struggles to deal with opposing Dragon-types, setup sweepers, and Encore and Trick users, so teammates such as Iron Valiant, which can break past Regidrago, and Skeledirge, which can deal with opposing setup sweepers like Cresselia as well as Encore users like Alolan Ninetales, are appreciated.

Manaphy sweeps through 1v1! Armed with a double dance set, Manaphy can destroy opposing threats, being able to set up on most threats such as Iron Hands, Great Tusk, and Walking Wake. (maybe mention importance of sitrus here? burst healing is especially important for fat setup like this to allow it to get another boost before resting) Scald is a useful option, and is preferred for its high initial power and the ability to inflict burns on the aforementioned Iron Hands (if u have any matchups where u can think of burn mattering include that too, iron hands kinda fell off with no snorlax so there might be more relevant mons. if not then just ignore this), as well as providing good damage against Skeledirge. Alternatively, Stored Power is an option to break through setup sweepers such as Calm Mind Spectrier (spect can run taunt you and win if u find another example add that instead i cant think of any) and can deal with Stall Azumarill. Manaphy struggles with opposing Dragon types, Setup Sweepers, and Encore/Trick users, so teammates such as Iron Valiant, who can break past Goodra-H Regidrago (goodra is probably the dragon with the best valiant matchup and doesnt even lose when built properly, use a different one instead) and Skeledirge, who can deal with opposing setup sweepers like Cresselia as well as Encore users like Ninetales-Alola. (probably want an example here, skeledirge also beats encore mons too so i'd include that as well) are very much appreciated.
