It's time for 1v1 PL IX, starting off with deciding team managers. Only post in this thread if you would like to sign up to manage a team, player signups will be coming later. Everyone (past, and new managers alike) are required to sign up if you wish to manage with no exceptions. You are allowed to sign up as a solo manager (i.e. you do not necessarily have to sign up with an assistant manager anymore.) Managers will be chosen based on a number of factors, such as prior experience in team tour leadership, experience with the 1v1 metagame, and general good behavior on Smogon and PS!. You must sign up for one of the tournament's franchises. No team will change names and we will provide the logos. The 8 available franchises are: Hellfire Heatrans, Metro Boomin' Megarays, Drive-By Dragapults, Big Baller Barraskewdas, Hyperspace Horrors, RPS Rhyperiors, Trigger-Happy Thwackeys, and Playful Panchams.

This year's format is:
  • SV 1v1 Bo7
  • SV 1v1
  • SV 1v1
  • SS 1v1 Bo7
  • SS 1v1
  • SM 1v1
  • ORAS 1v1
  • BW 1v1
Manager signups will close May 12th. The hosts (Arai and I) will announce the selected managers and open player signups shortly afterwards.

Price Last 1v1PL / 2 + Wins Last 1v1PL * 2000 = Self Buy Price
(If result ends in 250 it rounds down, if results ends in 750 rounds up. For example 17250 = 17000, 12750 = 13000)

Note that it says 1v1PL and not last 1v1 Team Tour (OGPL and WC not included). If you did not play last 1v1PL, it goes back to the last 1v1PL you played. For example, if the last 1v1PL I played was 1v1PL VI, my price and record would be from that tour. If you have not played 1v1PL before, your self buy price will default to 10000, which will be the minimum self buy price (If the formula for you adds up to say 8000, your price will be 10000).

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): i have managed multiple tournaments with my teams always performing. Kata is the best bw 1v1 player and fits well in the 1v1 community with their takes.

Why would you be a good manager?
I was the assistant manager of the OGPL I RPS Rhydons and the manager of the Stolen Spectres in both OGPL II and III, which both won the tournament. I also was an authorized drafter for the RPS Rhyperiors as a retained player in PL VII, in which the team reached semis, and PL VIII, in which the team reached finals.

Delemon was on the Drive-by-Dragapults last year and is both one of the strongest 1v1 players and a successful manager. She was the assistant manager of the Playful Panchams in PL VII, in which her team reached finals. She also co-captained US Northeast + Canada in 1v1 WC VII and captained the team in 1v1 WC VIII. In both these tournaments, her team reached semis. In addition to that, she was my assistant manager in OGPL II and III, both of which we won together.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): Both of us have previous experiences in managing in previous other tours and we previously worked together in OGPL II Managing Frostmoths together. As for our experience in 1v1, both of us have been around the community and have been active and is fairly knowledgeable about the people.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): I managed during OGPL, know how to build sv, and i am in touch with the community.
Cono is a strong 1v1 player for several years, with good results in 1v1 smogon tournaments in 2023, boss of the pool at Majors and having played 1v1pl before. Also very familiar with teambuilding and ladder.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): I have won 1v1PL last year. Made finals of 1v1 Global Cup, made circuit playoffs top 8 last yr, #2 seed in 1v1 Ladder Tournament and played 1v1 in many side tours such as UMPL, HPL, etc. I also have a fair amount of managership experience as I have managed many tours accross Smogon such as SMPL, SSPL, ISPL, NDWC, Solomods PL, etc and other discord tours such as BTWC, ISTT, etc.
Kala Won HPL last year and ended with an excellent score of 6-2, clinched umpl finals with a score of 3-1, clinched 1v1PL finals last year with a score of 5-4. They struggled in LT and played every cycle shamelessly and managed to qualify in the last one.
Last year winner + last year finalist duo is here. We promise to provide a healthy environment to the team and be an active part in the tour

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): I co-managed the Panchams last year (and the Snorlaxes in OGPL2); and would like to reprise the franchise for this edition.
glitched is a seasoned tour player in 1v1 and an active contributor on the CC side, along with being a respected member of the community. They've had great records in team tournaments, amongst which are winning WC VII with Asia, and going 6-1 in PL VII for the Panchams in their PL debut.
We look forward to managing!

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details):
Close, our team's primary manager for this tournament is a veteran with a long history in 1v1, who has found consistent success in several generations and very importantly, across many tournaments. Apart from being among our community's most respected members, Close has also attained rich managerial experience over the past years, leading to our World Cup team's recent victory. His sharp eye for talent scouting and his ability to assist various slots have been keys to success.
Although I am a newer face in 1v1 in comparison, my skillset will complement the team's needs, ranging from the building and playing aspects that led to my recent Classic victory, to managing people from different backgrounds during the previous OGPL, while always maintaining a balance between the competitiveness and enjoyability aspects of the team. We are certain that our love in approaching new challenges, our playerbase knowledge and talent scouting/coaching will be key factors in forming a successful and enjoyable team.
