1v1 Summer Seasonal

Tournament Rules:
  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • The banlist for this tournament is the same as the US/UM 1v1 ladder on the Smogon University server of Pokemon Showdown, and can be found here.
  • Best of five, double elimination.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown!.
  • Replays are not required but I encourage posting them for the development of the metagame.
  • Do not make baseless activity posts; get in contact with your opponent and report missed times / scheduling issues only.
The deadline is Saturday, July 14 somewhere in the vicinity of 9 PM UTC. (I may have to delay this deadline due to all the extensions.) Extended games should be completed in the next few days.

honchkrow vs. Escoffier - Honchkrow will probably win, but Escoffier seems good enough to pull an upset. Definitely looking forward to this one.

LoneCubone vs. TGC United - This one's a toss-up, Alone is good, but so's Heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh
Quantum Tesseract vs. Magma
ggopw vs. pqs - I have literally no idea.
DoW vs. TheShadowClaw - TSC's good.

QT over Magma- if Landon loses, he beats the ultimate serious player. Idt magma can do it tho, and I’m pretty sure Landon will win

Predictions:
OM Room vs Lancer Fr: France buddy vs Friend from 1v1pl. Hmmm Lancer wins. Go france in world cup.

If Bsu drops, he wins, simple.

honchkrow vs Escoffier: Honchkrow, great guy and great 1v1 player. Escoffier is uh... uh... idk tbh.

Arsenal Arceus vs Kentari: I picked this because it would be funny to see Kentari lose.

LoneCubone vs TGC United: LoneCubone is ok but, i really havent seen him play besides the few matches ive played on ladder. TGC United is a pretty good player and has proven to be a threat regardless of his position in losers bracket.

These next picks are based of predictions for losers from last round:

Quantum Tesseract vs Magma: Not to shit on QT but, he is very easy to predict in team preview match ups. Magma is decent at 1v1. This is a 50/50 imo but, if QT can predict better, he has a shot. Otherwise, I see Magma winning.

Joker 1v1 vs pqs: Joker has been a on the rise since his Classic win, pqs could win if he chooses weird but, I see Joker winning between the two.

DoW vs TheShadowClaw: I havent seen DoW play before lol. I see TSC winning clear this round.
