Hello everyone! First, of all let me say thanks for reading this RMT and I hope it inspires you to give VoltTurnMayhem a try while it's still featured.

I started playing pokemon here way back at the beginning of season 4, but I've been away for quite a while. Recently I found myself really missing the competitive Pokémon community. I didn’t know where to start when I came back. I’ve mostly been out of the meta since the beginning of XY, but I saw this featured game mode and it looked like a lot of fun, as well as being a nice way to ease back into the game.

After failing to build a worthwhile stall team I decided that priority and momentum were incredibly important in this meta, and so I decided to build a team around Fake Out and Extreme Speed. The results have been very good, but not ideal. This team is quite competitive, but ti suffers from a couple of major problems: 1) It has no knock off user in a meta dominated by choice items, and 2) Choice Scarf Gengar Destroys this team with ease if I make even the slightest mistake,. I’ve tried to fix the problem, but any changes I’ve made seem to only make it worse. I’d love some advice and I hope you enjoy the team.

ih8spikeyhatz (Lopunny) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thunder Wave/Giga Impact
- Ice Punch
- Fake Out
- Protect

This team is built around the synergy between M-Loppuny’s Fake Out and Choice Band Dragonite’s E-Speed, a combination that rapidly wears down opposing teams in the early game if permitted to switch back and forth freely and blows through weakened teams with ease. Protect is for scouting faster Fake Out users—specifically Choice Scarf Weavile and Choice Scarf Mienshao. Ice Punch puts dents in pokemon that are 4x weak to it that regularly give this team trouble (Lando-T, Tank Chomp, and Gliscor) and who can otherwise switch in on Lopunny with little fear. Giga Impact puts gigantic holes in anything that doesn’t resist it and is generally safer than High Jump Kick (a move I avoid because there’s too much room for me to be outplayed and to outplay myself), however Thunder Wave is much appreciated by Sylveon, Victini, and Dragonite, and has proven to have quite a bit of surprise factor. Moreover, the common use of Eject Button makes Giga Impact a risky proposition—a Lopunny that Giga Impacts into an Almomola with Eject Button is a dead Lopunny and probably the end of the match for me.

zygarde.gif

2FAT (Zygarde) @ Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Def / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Glare
- Protect
- Extreme Speed
- Outrage

This is the team MVP right here. Zygarde was originally Rocky helmet Tank Chomp and Dragonite greatly appreciated all that chip damage, but the team needed more bulk, but I didn’t want to lose momentum by running a slow regenerator mon like Slowbro, and Zygarde has some unique benefits that Garchomp doesn’t bring to the team in Glare and Extreme Speed. Glare paralyzes everything that isn’t an electric type, including those pesky ground types mentioned above, allowing Victini and Sylveon to fire their nuclear lasers, and Extreme Speed is a guaranteed way of keeping momentum. Protect scouts Fake Out users and the wide range of Choice Items found in Volt Turn Mayhem and it gains me more turns of leftovers allowing Zygarde to tank more V-Creates and *shudder* Giga Impacts. I’m NOT running Earthquake for two reasons 1) It’s too risky. In normal having someone switch and avoid an EQ is unfortunate but not game breaking, in VoltTurnMayhem it can be a huge loss of momentum that could actually cost the game. 2) If I’m not paralyzing something then I should be trying to hit whatever is in front of me or coming in as hard as possible, and so we run Outrage. 136 Speed EVs outspeeds Adamant max speed Dragonite, but it can be reduced to 56 for more tankiness while still being able to outspeed Galvantula and Bisharp—a niche concern without EQ, but still worth considering—or reduced to zero for maximum tankiness. Each spread has its merits.

victini.gif

Nuclear Weapon (Victini) @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- Glaciate
- Quick Attack

The nickname says it all. Very few things can eat a Choice Band Victini V-Create and even fewer can do so and then threaten Sylveon. For example Slowbro can only take one—and bringing in Slowbro on a V-Create means my opponent then has to also bring in something to tank the following Pixilate Hyper Beam, an unlikely proposition. Bolt Strike is the standard coverage move, and Quick Attack has some niche use regaining lost momentum. Glaciate is here because I’m yet to find a better option, and it’s exclusively here in hopes of getting a speed drop on a desirable target, but if I’m honest it’s uses are almost non-existent outside of catching a Tank Chomp off guard. Glaciate used to be Final Gambit, but the usability of Final Gambit was also very narrow. Max Speed and Damage.

sylveon.gif

FIRE THE LASERS! (Sylveon) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Beam
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Quick Attack
- Psyshock/Hyper Voice

Choice Specs Sylveon Hyper Beams actually hit HARDER than a Victini V-Create, as crazy as that is. Nothing in the game wants to eat one of these. Additionally, Sylveon has decent special bulk allowing it a few more opportunities to fire it’s lasers and to serve as an emergency check against opposing special attackers—specifically Scarf Gengar who runs a train on this team. The EV spread allows me to typically outspeed Mega Venusaur and specially-defensive Heatran. HP Ground is for Heatran, Quick Attack allows me to regain momentum occasionally, and Psyshock hits Venusaur and Tentacruel slightly harder, but the improvement is small and I might better be served running Hyper Voice here to prevent bulkier teams from PP Stalling out my Hyper Beams with protect switching Regenerator shenanigans.

excadrill.gif

SpinnyRazor (Excadrill) @ Eject Button
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Protect
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

This was originally Choice Band Scizor, which gave me a decent way of dealing with Scarf Gengar and Mega Diancie, and gave me a highly valuable Knock Off user and a more reliable way to remove hazards, but Scizor also left me without any hazards of my own and had absolutely zero surprise factor. Eject Button Excadrill gives me two things—reliable Stealth Rocks and a one-time ability to immediately regain momentum and/or trap Giga Impact, Frenzy plant, and Hyper Beam users. It’s also a decent check to Fairies but cannot take repeat Pixilate Hyper Beams—thankfully Eject Button should mean I only need to take one. Max HP for survivability, max speed to outspeed everything possible. There’s undoubtedly a more optimal spread.

dragonite.gif

2FAST (Dragonite) @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 162 HP / 4 Def/ 252 Atk / 92 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch

Choice Band Dragonite is the win condition. If the opposing Pokémon is faster or has priority click E-Speed and pivot. If it’s slower then click Outrage. Fire Punch is for Scizor and Ferrothorn, and Earthquake hits Heatran and other steel types as well as Tyranitar and a couple other things. Choice Banded E-Speed does tremendous damage, and last Pokémon Dragonite or alternating between Lopunny and Dragonite is frequently the way to win close games. 100 Speed EVs outspeeds neutral natured base 100s after a glaciate and 8 EV Impish Landorus-Therian—rare concerns, but I’m yet to find a reason to invest in any more bulk (if someone can think of one please let me know).

Lopunny (Lopunny) @ Lopunnite

hey there :]

definitely run giga impact on mega lopunny, it kinda rocks on this mon in particular since so high speed and so high power! just a slight nitpick, really. not sure, besides that this teams looks solid, though the excadrill is a *little* bit questionable, but it makes sense on this team imo. great team dude!
