Welcome to the first National Dex tournament circuit! This circuit will have players compete in a variety of tournaments throughout the year in order to earn points. The players with the most points will then battle it out at the end of the year in the National Dex Circuit Playoffs! The 2020 National Dex tournament circuit will consist of the following tournaments:
- National Dex Seasonal (Spring, Fall)
- National Dex Ladder Tournament
- National Dex Live Tournament
Circuit Tournament Schedule
- National Dex Spring Seasonal (mid April) - won by sweet heat
- National Dex Ladder Tournament (mid May) - won by BaconEatinAssassin
- National Dex Live Tournament - (late July)
- National Dex Fall Seasonal (early September)
- National Dex Playoffs (early November)
Seasonals:
Players receive points equal to the round they were eliminated in. 1st place receives 3 bonus points, the runner-up receives one bonus point. Players eliminated round 2 or earlier receive no points.
Ladder Tournament:
1st: 15 Points
2nd: 12 Points
3rd-4th: 9 Points
5th-8th: 6 Points
9th-16th: 3 Points
17th-32nd: 1 Point
Live Tour
Players who reach top 4 in a weekly tournament will get 2 points and the winner will get 1 extra point for a total of 3. Players can only early points from 1 tournament per week; whichever they score highest in. Players who reach the playoffs will score 1 bonus point, and the winner of the playoffs will score 3 additional points.
Tournament Information
Seasonals
Seasonals are a best of 3 double-elimination tournaments that will run twice over the course of the 2020 circuit. Each pairing is generated randomly at the start of each round.
Ladder Tournament
The National Dex Ladder Tournament will be split into 2 sections: the first will be a 4 week long qualifying phase where every week, players will play on the National Dex ladder in order to try and get the highest ELO possible. At the end of every week, the 8 players with the highest ELO will qualify for the second section of this tournament: the playoffs. The playoffs for this tournament will be a best of 3, seeded elimination bracket.
Live Tournament
The National Dex Live Tournament will be a series of live tournaments played on Smogtours. The Live Tournaments will take place each Weekend over a 4-week span, each week alternating between National Dex and National Dex AG. At the end of the 4 weeks, the 16 players who earned the most points during the Live Tournaments will compete in a seeded bo3 bracket where the highest seed will pick which meta to play first, followed by the loser of each game choosing after that.
Playoffs
At the end of the year, the 16 players who have accumulated the most points will be entered into the National Dex playoffs. This tournament will be a seeded best of 3 single-elimination tournament to determine who the best National Dex player is! The playoff games will consist of only National Dex games.
The Point payouts and exact dates that each tour will start are subject to change as we finalize a few things, but will be more or less the same as what you see here.
