UU 2024 UU Circuit Championship - Playoff Tiebreak

Welcome to the 2024 UnderUsed Circuit Playoffs! This is what the entire year's UnderUsed tournament circuit has been leading up to, and we are close to having our 16 playoff contestants. The tournament will be hosted in a followup thread - this is just for the tiebreaker to decide who gets in!

SPECIFIC RULES
  • The format for this tournament is SV UU, best of three.
  • Replays are required. Playing on the Smogtours server is recommended to ensure that replays are saved.

All standard clauses apply:
  • Sleep Clause: If a player has already put an opposing Pokémon to sleep using a sleep inducing move and that Pokémon is still sleeping due to that sleep inducing move, the player cannot put another opposing Pokémon to sleep using a sleep inducing move.
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same species of Pokémon on their team, based on the National Pokedex Number. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
  • Evasion Clause: Players cannot use Double Team or Minimize in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.

Despite my predictions, i do feel like those mus are pretty interesting and will probably be closer than people might think. From what i know and from my perspective, xiri probably has the highest skill ceiling there and have his own twists on teams choices, but at the same time they could backfire and idk how much in touch he has been with sv uu lately. Skimmythegod had a strong performance in UUPL iirc and usually loads solid and proven teams, but i also don't know how much in touch he has been with sv uu. TakingNotes is solid but maybe could fall a bit short in-game, he has brought some interesting teams/ideas in the past tho and follows sv uu more closely than the other two, i can see him capitalizing on that and having an upper hand on builder to beat them.
 
Is the sheet not supposed to be the 2024 one instead of 2023? :smogduck:
