It's time for the second year of the UM tournament circuit! UM players will have a chance to prove that they are the best by competing in a series of tournaments throughout the year and earning points. At the end of the year, there will be a seeded best of five playoffs consisting of the top 16 players with the most points. The winner of the playoffs will be crowned the overall best UM player of the year and receive a prize banner as well as a choice between a custom avatar, disabled username, or namecolor change. The prize banner will last for a year or until a different champion is crowned.

Tournament Details​

UM Grand Slam

UM Grand Slam is a two-stage tournament. Stage 1 consists of the Ubers UU, ZU, AG, 1v1, and NFE Opens. Opens are Type B, best-of-3, single-elimination tournaments where participants earn points in an attempt to qualify for the second stage.The 8 players with the most points at the end of all of these tournaments compete in the second stage, which is a Type A, seeded single-elimination tournament (AKA UMGS Playoffs).

Both the Opens themselves and the Grand Slam Playoffs will count towards qualifying for the Circuit Championships.

Seasonals

Seasonals are Type A, best-of-3, double-elimination tournaments. There are five seasonals, one for each of the main tournament metagames. Seasonals are Type A despite being single-UM tournaments because they're the most reflective of each metagame's playerbase before the Circuit Championships.

Homefield Advantage

Homefield is a best-of-3 single elimination tour where players signup with a "Homefield" tier of their choice (e.g. Ubers UU), and it remains set for the entire tournament. Every week, a tier will randomly be designated as the "starting" tier, meaning that the first game in each bo3 must be that metagame. The loser's homefield tier will be played in game 2, and game 3 will be the remaining player's homefield tier. Because the principle of this type of tournament is to allow players to guarantee that their chosen homefield metagame is played no matter what, it is possible for the bo3 sets to feature the same metagame more than once (e.g. starting tier = NFE, my tier = NFE, opponent's tier = NFE).

Swiss LCQ

Swiss means that everyone plays someone of the same record (0-0, 2-1, 7-2, etc) when possible. Three losses eliminates you from the tournament. After a number of rounds indicated by the signups (structure list coming later), the remaining players will be put into a single-elimination Top Cut to determine the winner.

Circuit Playoffs

This will be a best-of-five single elimination tournament where the top 16 in circuit standings duke it out to see who's truly the best overall UM player.

UM Thread 'UMs Homefield Advantage II - Signups'

Welcome to the second edition of UM Homefield Advantage, a Type B tournament in the UMs Circuit. Players will sign up with a metagame of their choice for a Bo3 single-elimination tournament, with the first game locked to a randomized metagame each week. The loser of that game will then play their opponent in the metagame they signed up with - giving them "homefield advantage".

Tournament-Specific Rules

The home player can choose from one of the following tiers to be played: SV ZU, SV NFE, SV 1v1 bo5, SV Ubers UU, SV Anything Goes. Your metagame of choice is locked starting...

Welcome to the 2025 ZU Seasonal! This seasonal is a Type A tournament of the 2025 ZU Tournament Circuit and also rewards points toward the UM Circuit, too! Replays are not required until Round 2. This tour is hosted by FlamPoke.

Specific Rules:
This is a standard SV ZU tournament.
Matches are to be played on PS!, preferably on the smogtours server.
The format for this tournament is best of three, double elimination.
Any tier changes that occur during a round will not be in effect until the following round.
Changing teams between games is allowed.
