We will finally be using the same points system introduced last year:
Type A = 2.0x
Type B = 1.5x
Type C = 1.0x
So what this translates to is that the winner of Type A tournaments would get 1000 points, 750 points for Type B tournaments, and 500 for Type C tournaments.
Type A Tournaments:
- Official Smogon Tournament: The first tournament of the year and an official one as well. The format is a Bo3 SV OU Single Elimination tournament and the winner will also be awarded a golden trophy.
- OU Spring Seasonal: This tournament will have a Bo3 Double Elimination format, in which players get a second chance at victory after losing a series. If a player loses a set, they will be placed in a separate bracket, while the undefeated winners continue in their bracket.
- OU Fall Seasonal: Just as the Spring Seasonal, the Fall Seasonal will have a format with a Bo3 Double Elimination.
- OU Stour Tour: The Stour Tour is a Bo3 Single Elimination tournament that mimics the Smogon Tour playoffs format, with the 3 most recent OU gens being played. This year it will include SV OU, SS OU, and SM OU.
- Official Ladder Tournament: The Official Ladder Tournament involves a qualification phase taking place in the dangerous SV OU Ladder for 4 weeks, followed by playoffs. Points will be given to those that qualify for the 32-man playoffs. This tournament is known for bringing new names to the tour scene, and gives them a chance at the second current generation OU individual trophy of the year.
- Smogon Tour 38: Points earned in the official SV OU live tours of Smogon Tour will count towards the OU circuit. Points will be distributed for the overall performance among SV OU Smogon tournaments. Note that SS OU and SM live tour performances will not be taken into consideration as they are part of the Ruins of Alph circuits.
- Last Chance Qualifier: A final single-elimination tournament to give participants a final push to qualify for circuit playoffs.
