[SET COMMENTS]
Raging Bolt is a strong special attacker that uses its good natural bulk and offensive typing to survive attacks and respond with strong Electric- and Dragon-type moves. Draco Meteor gives Raging Bolt a one-time nuke, while Dragon Pulse is a more consistent option for Life Orb sets. Thunderclap allows Raging Bolt to threaten faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Urshifu-R before they can move. Booster Energy and Life Orb both allow Raging Bolt to deal more damage at the cost of either losing its boost on switch or taking recoil. Life Orb is used on sun teams, as its boost can stack with the Protosynthesis boost. Tera Electric boosts Thunderbolt and Thunderclap, allowing Raging Bolt to OHKO Pokemon such as bulky Kyogre with Thunderbolt and Urshifu-R with Thunderclap if Urshifu-R Terastallizes into a neutral type, as well as 2HKOing Calyrex-I with Thunderbolt. Tera Fairy makes Raging Bolt immune to Dragon-type attacks like Miraidon's Draco Meteor in addition to being a good neutral type.
Raging Bolt struggles into bulky Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Ting-Lu that resist or are immune to Thunderbolt, survive Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse, and respond with Spore or a super effective attack. Faster offensive Pokemon like Miraidon, Zacian-C, and Landorus are also a problem for Raging Bolt, as they can threaten to OHKO it. Calyrex-I threatens the Grass-, Ground-, and Dragon-types that resist Thunderbolt, as well as setting up Trick Room to help Raging Bolt with faster threats. Raging Bolt can also hit the Water-types that resist Glacial Lance with Thunderbolt or Thunderclap. Pokemon that can set up sun such as Koraidon also pair well with Raging Bolt, as they allow it to get a Protosynthesis boost in addition to Life Orb. Raging Bolt can support them by threatening Water-types that resist Flare Blitz or by removing Pelipper, which is a common check to sun teams.
