Because of the number of participants we have, this tournament consisted of 6 rounds of Swiss (as opposed to the previously mentioned 7) followed by a single-elimination playoffs bracket. Each round will last one week.

Tier Rules and Resources

Tournament Rules:
  • General tournament rules and regulations.
  • This tournament will consistent of 6 SWISS rounds followed by a single-elimination bracket for the remaining participants
  • Players will be eliminated after 3 losses in the SWISS stage, and after one loss in the elimination stage
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! using the challenge code above.
  • S/V cartridge win conditions are in place; there are no ties.
  • Replays are required. Play on https://smogtours.psim.us/ to ensure that your replays are automatically saved.

So I'm just gonna keep it concise, this is my first ever tournament win thats not some random roomtour and I'm glad its 35 pokes, the tier that brought me to the site :) Thank you SO much to presi who helped me prep for finals, and mmtaccos who passed me some teams earlier on. Here's all the teams i prepared for this final match!

only now i realized how stupid this team sounds lol, specs ribombee and band sirfetchd is just an amazing offensive core. The defensive core was inspired by GCGoat galv flygon sample, that team is so genius man. While I didnt play this game too well, im still proud of the techs I brought with it like giga drain flygon which came in clutch

As the title suggests, this team was random bs ideas I had. The specs regice idea came from this team by eeveeto, which made me realize the joys of offensive regice. The team is finished off with random shit like sub salac magmortar (sad I didnt get to show this off :pensive: ) and scarf sirfetch'd.

Throughout the entire tournament I never brought HO, so i decided this would be the time (although i didnt even load this team LOL). politoed is there because I have PTSD from portobello goobing me with sun, metronome is there because maybe i draw fissure on regice. Team is filled out with offesnive guys like kingambit-beta-male and lum iron tail flygon.

I didn't really prep for finals as I should have due to tournament fatigue and loss of interest but I wanted to thank Ember Celica a big deal for referring me to this tournament helping me teambuild and make it to finals, I wouldn't have made it that far without him. I literally used all samples during swiss as I don't like churning through multiple teams per week and didn't even expect to make it past playoffs. Here are some teams that I built for playoffs in the meantime.

I recall getting goobed by Normal Gem Grafaiai at one point and was going to build around him but I realized Misty Terrain synergizes with the physical breaking core I had in mind perfectly and can easily overwhelm Galarian Weezing. I also initially copied the EVs from that Scrafty sample team but I think max speed attack adamant EVs is better for this team.

When I beat presi he mentioned wanting to build around Specs Flygon so I took the idea to build my own. All I can say is being able to goob G-Weezings with this tech feels amazing.

Lum Berry Sir'Fetchd is underrated af, lay a SD, lure G-Weezing/whatever expecting a first impression, nuke. Rest of the team is pretty basic however, as this team was built around Oricorio-Sensu initially

I will try to keep my closing thoughts short as well, in short this tour has been in the works since April which is insane to think about, and I could not be happier with how it turned out. y'all made some crazy innovations, specs regice is something I never would have thought of, same with terrain gweezing. 35 pokes is my favorite smogon community and I'm so happy it's getting the recognition it deserves.

SirPeanutCronch congrats on your win, not really surprising considering you're now a well known smogon player, but those were some absolutely insane teams. memester you had a great run as well, it really could've gone either way (honestly everyone who made top 4 had a solid chance of winning). finally I want to give a massive thanks to Ember Celica for helping me put this thing together and not letting it become the trainwreck it almost certainly would have if I was doing it all myself.
