Welcome to the first edition of 35 Pokes Premier League!!
For those unfamiliar with 35 Pokes, let me give you a quick rundown. 35 Pokes is a National Dex-based metagame where 35 Pokemon are randomly generated every month! Simple, right? HERE is the metagame thread of the tier where you can find all its mechanics and resources. The 35 Pokes Discord server is linked at the end of this post.
The 35 Pokes Premier League is a 5 to 7-week event at minimum and has the potential to stretch on a bit further depending on tiebreak situations. Only sign up if you can be active for the majority of this time, as a high level of activity is expected. This includes several things, such as communicating with your team and getting your games done, as well as maintaining a competitive attitude even after your team has already been eliminated. It is in your own best interest to show off your best side. For general guidelines on what to do and what not to do, refer to Luigi's guidelines here.
A bunch of rulings I expect you to read:
- Teams will consist of 10 starter slots and several substitute slots.
- The minimum team size is 15.
- The absolute maximum team size is 18.
- There will be two slots per team for the February 2024 format and two slots per team for the February 2025 format. There will be one slot per team for each of the other formats.
- Each team will be managed by a manager and a co-manager picked by the hosts.
- There will be 4-6 teams depending on the signups.
- Players will be drafted via live auction.
- Teams will have a total of 150,000 credits to draft a minimum of 15 players (10 main + 5 subs).
- Managers are permitted to purchase themselves.
- The first manager self-buy price is 13.5k.
- The second self-buy price is 15k.
- Players will sign up listing their tier preferences (non-binding).
- Trades may not occur.
- Tourbanned users may not participate.
- There will be a severe penalty for any team that picks up a known alt of a banned player, or any player masquerading as another person to lower their cost in the auction.
- In the event that a player displays excessively unsportsmanlike behavior or breaks any of the PS Global Rules or Smogon-wide posting rules (including in team discords), the hosts will investigate on a case-by-case basis. In the event that a player must be ejected from a team for their behavior, managers will be allowed to pick one player from the undrafted pool at no cost.
- The Season MVP will receive cash prize, courtesy of our generous donors!
- The Season MVP(s) will be the player(s) with the best overall sheet record

The playable tiers for this edition of the 35PL are (with list of legal Pokemon in spoilers):
1. Pokemon are set to 100 (or lower)
2. Hidden Power is banned
3. All forms of evasion boosting are banned, except Snow Cloak and Sand Veil
4. Sleep Clause is in effect, with the exception of Spore and Yawn
5. Kings Rock is banned
6. This format is played in Custom Games
7. Z crystals cannot be put onto a pokemon
8. Mega pokemon must be used in their respective mega forms and not their base forms
9. Mega pokemon must use their mega stones, and you may have multiple megas per team
10. Baton Pass Clause is in effect. Only one Pokemon may have Baton Pass, and that Pokemon may not have a way of passing boosts in Speed and another Stat at the same time.
11. Moody is legal
12. Ohko moves are banned
13. Last Respects is legal

All Metagame Resources
If you are interested in playing, be aware that any team may buy you, and you are expected to play for any one of them. Only list tiers in your signup that you are willing to play. While these aren't binding, it will affect how the managers will see you, and you are expected to play them if necessary. If you would not consider seriously playing a tier in a tournament, do not list it. Do not make dumb joke posts about playing tiers you don't care for. We will not be using tier lock for this edition of 35PL.
You are generally expected to participate in your team's Discord. While we understand that activity levels may vary, the team experience is a quintessential part of the 35PL, as it's the main thing differentiating it from an individual tournament. Your team's Discord server is where your team will hang out, discuss strategies, and just have fun without worrying about the game! This is where teams come together (or fall apart), and could very well be the most important part of your tournament run and experience.
