Pokémon is a game designed for teenagers. After all, is a kids game really supposed to have religious fanatics, kids their age encouraged to go out into the world alone, and giant creatures of rock/ice/steel fighting giant creatures resembling dragons, leviathans, robots, and countless other examples of why it deserves a PG 10+ rating?? This is clearly a teenager's game. Due to this, a tournament will be hosted catering to these people. Not really, but I needed to write a paragraph or so of text to make the OP look nicer. Go click the example links or something.

RULES:
1: Only NFE Pokémon are allowed.
--- Porygon2 yes, Pinsir no, Garchomp no, Rotom-W/other forme changers no.
2: Your team MUST be legal on the Smogon OU ladder that is currently in effect as of the beginning of the round your battle was placed.
--- If a ban/unban happens at any point during the tournament, it takes effect as soon as a new round starts. Extensions (Round 1 match, something gets banned, Round 2 starts but a battle is an R1 extension) use the banlist of R1, for example. Rule 1 takes priority in conflicts.
3: You must follow anything not already stated by Rule 2 that is stated in this thread.
--- Don't be an asshole to your fellow participants. This is a game, have fun.
4: Matches are played in a Best Of 1 format.
--- One match decides the winner. If you choose to play a Best of 3, I reserve the right to manually decide the winner based on the winner of the first match, and if there are complications, to force a rematch.

won vs ezio, gg

figured i'd post a couple things about the tour! =) it was a lot of fun to play in, and special shoutout to FLCL for giving me a team week one which gradually became the team that won. this is the team, with explanations inside:
Sneasel @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Ice Punch

sneasel was the most dangerous offensive poke in the meta, and i honestly feel like every offensive team would be really hard pressed to not find room for it. i ran jolly because virtually everyone else ran adamant, and it made little difference in getting kills. if i could create a free turn to set up, sneasel just went to town.

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 244 HP / 244 Atk / 20 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Punch
- Stealth Rock

for some reason, nobody i played used rhydon. it was really a key teammate especially in my last few matches, checking tons of threats like fletchinder, scyther, sneasel, etc while also consistently getting up SR and scaring gligar.

Magneton @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 Def
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt

magneton is king. i used choice scarf magneton because it checks every offensive powerhouse, and volt turn on pokemon like incoming chansey gives me an opportunity to bring in my hard hitters or something like gurdurr. it was dead weight in a lot of matches, but absolutely critical in others and really let me play a little more carefree with pokemon like gligar and rhydon, since i could always rely on magneton to check something like scyther if it gets out of hand.

Gurdurr @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off

if i had to label one of my pokes an mvp, it's gurdonk. nothing could ever fill the shoes of this guy, holding my team together against a myriad of threats and still posing such an offensive presence of its own. early on i was suggested to use bulk up > mach punch, but having the ability to use mach punch helped me out in basically every match (especially against metal sonic, since it let me kill his porygon2 without being threatened by tri attack), since i could fall back on it if necessary.

Gligar @ Eviolite
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spd
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Roost

i had some other weird gligar set here for a while, but i liked this one the best as a defensive pivot. gligar got plenty of switch-in opportunities, and as such got to knock off a lot of eviolites and such. SD was mostly so it could pose an offensive presence against a very defensive core; immunity lets it set up without fear of toxic wearing it down through the match.

Gothorita @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Energy Ball

gothorita was the last poke i added, to let me pick and choose which mons on defensive teams i wanted gone and was especially helpful in checking opposing gurdurr, because i would probably get reamed by one without goth. i first had a rest cm variant, but i ended up switching to specs to have more use vs offensive teams and still break apart defensive teams.

ggs guys and thanks for hosting, LS! first tour win *_*
