Introduction

The forgotten classic finally gets the spotlight.

Stadium OU World Championship will determine our first champion Stadium player. Like previous Gen 1 World Championship tournaments, Rounds will be best of 3 until 16, 20, or 25 are left. Then they'll be two double round-robin group stages, usually going down to 8 and then 4. The semi-finals and finals will be best of 5.

Stadium OU Format:
  • Banned Moves: Double Team, Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Minimize (Evasion + OHKO moves).
  • Banned Pokémon: Mew, Mewtwo.
  • Clauses: Freeze Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Team Preview.
Main Differences to RBY:
  • Substitute blocks all status.
  • Hyper Beam always recharges, even after KOing the target.
  • Sleep lasts between 1-3 turns.
  • Critical hits happen less for fast Pokémon, more for slow Pokémon (relative to RBY).
  • Focus Energy works.
  • Team Preview is on (some clauses might be able to be removed, but we'll stick to RBY rules for now)
  • Partial trapping moves (wrap etc.) stop when the target switches out.
  • HP values are displayed
  • No recoil damage if the target is KOed.
  • The weird RBY bugs like 255, dig/fly glitch are fixed.
Tournament Format (20 man):
  • Round 1 - 4 x 4 double round-robin groups (20 unseeded players)
  • Round 2 - 2 x 4 double round-robin groups (2 x 1st and 2 x 2nd Round 1 seeds in each group)
  • Round 3 - 2 best of 5 matches (2 x 1st vs 2nd Round 4 seeds from alternate groups)
  • Finals - 1 best of 5 match (2)
Tie rules:
  • Battle ties will not be counted in any best of match, but they will now count in round-robin matches as 1/2 a point each.
  • Ties between 1st and/or 2nd positions in a group will result in a single battle or single round-robin of battles repeated, until positions within the group are established.

Won 2-0 vs Troller, ggs. Some luck here and there gave me the advantage, but he fought well to get back in places and there were a few good predictions on both sides. Thank you for also letting us restart on turn zero when my eggy only had 3 moves :)
 
Peasounay wins on activity because BelmontGabriel hasn't made an effort to schedule yet and I said I'd start semis today.
