The Sunset Colosseum III ROUND FOUR!

Introduction:
The Sunset Colosseum made an appearance in Pokemon Battle Revolution, a game that was released during gen 4. This game had a unique game mode where the player was given 12 Pokemon at random and had to choose a team of 3 from those 12. I liked this game mode and I wanted to make a tournament based on it... exams happened... so Oglemi hosted it (thanks for that). Now I'm back! The rules are very similar to the Sunset Colosseum's original rules.

Tournament Special Rules:
  • At the start of each round, 12 random Pokemon will be posted in the OP. Each player must then build a team of 6 Pokemon from the 12 that have been posted. The moveset, item, EVs, and IVs can be chosen by the players. If the Pokemon has a Mega-Evolution stone, that counts as an item and is fair game (for example if Garchomp is one of the 12 random Pokemon, Mega Garchomp may be used). Of course, you cannot use the mega stone if the given mega Pokemon is in Ubers.
  • If a Pokemon has several formes you may only use the one specified in the OP (eg: I list Thundurus, you may not use Thundurus-T).
  • Your teams may overlap, in fact, you may have a mirror fight against your opponent. It's up to you to be creative with the Pokemon that are posted at the start of the round.
  • These will be Best of 1, Single Elimination matches.
  • Replays must be posted to prove your victory. If you forget, I will look for it. I will find it. And I will kill it.
  • Matches are to be played in ORAS OU on PS!

General Rules:
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
  • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
  • Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Items or indirect boosts do not break this clause.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Battle Timeout: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
  • Moody Clause: The ability Moody is banned from play.
  • Endless Battle Clause
  • All other ORAS OU Clauses.

really? how exactly do u beat +1 mega altaria if kyurem or opposing mega altaria arent already inside to prevent set up?
the other sunset colosseum versions simply had 12 random pokemon from any tier, why is this mono dragon vs mono dragon and whose altaria wins the tie? anw contacting i guess

BECAUSE I'M BORED! Stop complaining and be innovative.

Also, you still have 12 mons from a tier. That tier just so happens to be monotype.

And I can see several ways to deal with M. Altaria. I'd share them but that'd ruin the point of the tournament.

Contacted. But i do agree with chill shadow on this. Id rather keep this completely randomized
it never was fully randomized. which is why the dominance of moltres last round amongst other things have been questionable, since they've been decided by the host. imo this round isn't even the dumbest that has happened, there is one very clear m-altaria check, focus sash exists, choice scarf exists, amongst other things. last round we had moltres that could come in, literally kill any switch in (the only thing coming into a specs fire blast and not getting ohkod/2hkod, including assault vest mons, was the opponent's moltres), switch out and repeat at the next opportunity. keeping rocks off the field wasn't even hard, having a spinner that wins the 1v1 vs the only ghost in the list (cloyster vs golurk) and another one that easily crippled it with toxic (hitmontop) - not to mention both of those spinners won the direct 1v1 with the stealth rock setters (golurk himself and steelix).

my point is: if you're complaining about maltaria now, you should've complained about moltres last round too. you have to get creative. it just means you can't lock yourself through items / outrage or drop yourself through draco meteor without having a backup ready - and there are many available backups. are they good backups? no. are they going to stop altaria from running through your team? yes, so put those backups in your team just like you included awkward specific Mamoswine checks in round 1, Piloswine/Roselia/Staravia/possibly Haunter checks in round 2, and Moltres checks in round 3. there's always been a threat that swept through the list if you weren't careful, don't act like it's the first time this has happened. it just happens to carry dragon dance this time, so it's slightly harder to revengekill.

look, no one is saying this matchup is unplayable, and i have no idea if you played either of the previous versions of sunset colosseum, but in the last one, we had 12 mons that came from anywhere from PU to OU, and there was nothing dominating in any round as far as i can remember, and there was a lot of room to get creative since any of the 12 mons would and could be used to an extent. In this version, we've been playing some sort of RU + BL2, UU+BL, etc, essentially playing a limited tier but with broken elements that were banned alongside the pokemon of that tier, see: moltres coming back to "RU", etc. You said we should have complained before, i personally didnt think it was such an issue, i only complained to my friends, however im not really only complaining about how altaria is too good here, im complaining that instead of playing a tour where u get 12 randomized pokemon, we're playing a tier (such as RU) where you can only use 12 "RU" pokemon. that's not like the previous sunset colosseums, that's like a broken battle factory where you get to pick the sets.
