Sorry it's late, I'm new at this :(​

SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard SM Doubles OU tournament
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, all matches must have replays recorded. If neither player posts replays of the match, both players will suffer an automatic game loss. (If you were in losers' when you played, you are both out. If you were in winners', the winner is in losers' and the loser is out.)
  • If you are found signing up under more than one alt, you will be banned from circuit events for life.
  • Activity calls will be made by me with probably the neutral assistance from a TD, flips will be made on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the Doubles OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round. Doubles Ubers is available as a challenge option if something is banned mid-round.
  • Don't be a dick. If I found out you harassed your opponent, or were overly obnoxious or rude, I would have literally 0 problems banning you from future events.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
  • Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned. (No other evasion boosting things are banned).
  • OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
  • HypnoGravity Clause: The move Gravity is banned with all moves that can induce Sleep. I am not 100% sure if this is fully implemented on Pokemon Showdown!, so if it is not and you are found to be using it you will be disqualified and banned from future Circuit events.
  • Uber Clause: Anything that appears on Doubles OU' banlist is banned. This is the banlist for Doubles OU:

Since we had 165 signups, unfortunately 37 of you had to be cut so if your name isn't on here and you signed up, you are a sub. The first 80 were guaranteed to get in while 48 were chosen randomly out of the remaining 85. Due to the high amount of subs, I will be checking for activity on Thursday and Saturday so make sure you're in contact by then.

so you can make finals of the previous seasonal and then get shafted by a cap that barely matters because you don't check the thread every day / because you aren't friends with the host? good to know, won't be back anytime soon.

I understand how you would be upset by this, but come on, DAD1 went by the book and didn't do anything shady. Give him some slack, champ. I do think he should be aggressive with replacing inactive opponents/pairings from the long list of subbed users, tho.

hi braverius, i think you're being a bit unfair to dad1 since this is his first time hosting and he's trying to do his best. i agree that having a cap is silly and id prefer to do first 128 get in and then the remaining x become subs but smogon already had a system in place and dad1 went by the book here. if you looked at the sublist you'd know that dad1s friends werent really given a headsup about the signups (rip checkmater) and also that you're quite high on the sub list (i believe you're 4th now) so it would be great if you stayed in because future tours should be seeded which would mean you won't miss the initial cut again! (◠‿◠✿)

Going by the book is my issue here. Why the cap at 128? Why is this in the book to begin with? I mean if it happens this time and gets fixed that's fine, but take a good look at it and actually fix it. It isn't specifically Dad1's fault but allowing this to be the format without raising a concern is sort of weird, considering even if I didn't finish well last Seasonal, being left out of a tournament that has the structure of a VGC 2009 Regional isn't something I'd be pleased with.

Do a knockout round or something instead of a hard cap, or auto-place your top 4-8 circuit players + your top 4-8 finishers from last time if you're gonna do a cap -- people want to have a crack at playing those players. It makes the circuit competitive and keeps continuity. And as far as Dad1 not including friends or community or whatever, take a look at the first few posts. I mean they're all people that make the tournament more competitive, but it's still self-serving to an extent and doesn't feel right. The date of the post should be announced way ahead of time if you're going to keep it this way.

Sorry for the previous negative post, should have been more constructive, was really frustrated upon initially seeing that I wasn't in the tournament.
