Welcome to Little Cup's first seasonal!​

Rules:
  • Standard SM LC
  • Double Elimination
  • All rounds will be best of three, you may switch teams during your series
  • Any changes to the tier that occur in the middle of a round will not apply until the next round
  • ALL REPLAYS MUST BE SAVED AND POSTED!! If neither player posts replays, the series will either be replayed or coin flipped. This is to ensure an even playing field for everybody. For this reason, it is strongly encouraged that you play all your games on Smogon Tournaments PS! Server because it will automatically save replays.
  • You are expected to know and follow all general tournament rules.
  • Scheduling rules will be strictly enforced. Use this guide to ensure you don't lose via activity or coinflip.

This is a type A tournament for the Smogon Championship with 256 players:

The most successful players of the LC Spring, Summer, and Fall seasonals will have the opportunity to move on to playoffs to compete for the title (and banner!) of LC Seasonal Champion.
  • Each win in a winner's bracket earns you 2 points
  • Each win in a loser's bracket earn you 1 point
  • The 16 players with the most points move on to playoffs
  • Amount of points determines seeding

We had someone sign up twice, once in the original signups and once as a sub after they had lost. This is not allowed and they have been dq'd, resulting in some extra byes. I apologize for not catching this sooner, but it's tough to notice everything going on with 256 players.

Macle offered you two different times to play (Thursday after 9 or today around 10). You didn't respond to either offer with a yes, no, or different time to play, even when you were online during that second time frame. You should have made an effort to arrange a scheduled time that would work for both of you, rather than hoping you both happened to be online at the same time so macle could PM you.

If he set up a time and didn't check if I was online at said times (spoilers, I was) then he is equally if not more so to blame. If you set up a meeting and then don't show up, what was the point of even naming a time? Sure I could have said "ok" but he could have also pmed me with just as minimal effort, "play now?"

You never responded to macle's scheduling attempts, so how is he to know that he needs to be around at that time? If you try to set up a meeting with someone and they never respond, you're not under any obligation to go to the meeting, because for all you know, they'll never show up and you will have wasted your time. If macle shows up anyway, the onus is still on you to search him out because he has no idea that you have made an effort to be around at the scheduled time and he doesn't know that he should be looking for you. For the future, I would advise being clearer and communicating more often in your VMs so that situations like this won't arise.

I'm very clear on what the VMs say, you didn't need to post a very limited portion of them for me to read again. The most important part of my decision is that macle made two different attempts to schedule a time to play, while your most productive post ("is tomorrow night fine") was vague and had no follow through after macle responded to it with a more specific timeframe. The fact that neither of you communicated for a week and you got the conversation going again is good, but not nearly as important as the steps macle took towards trying to complete the game.

If you still feel very strongly about this and wish to continue it further, please PM me so that we don't continue to fill this thread up with posts nobody else cares about. I also ask that you keep it more civil so the discussion is actually productive and not just sarcastic remarks that don't get us anywhere.
