Welcome, Smogon, to the fifth edition of UU Majors! This is the premier edition of an annual UU Circuit Tour where you can test your mettle against the top players in the community. Unlike most elimination tours, where your opponent is a matter of chance, UU Majors ensures that every participant plays a broad swath of the tier's playerbase as you fight your way to the top. Last year we saw CBU and Eternally fight their way to the top, what up and coming UU players will emerge this time around? It could be you, so don't miss your chance to sign up for the most electrifying UU Circuit tournament!

During Stage 2, players will face each other in a randomly generated bracket and take each other on in a best of 3 SS UU series.

Tour Specific Rules
  • This is a standard SWSH UU tournament.
  • Stage 1 of this tournament will be a round robin series. Players will be placed in pools, and must play all other opponents in their pool.
  • Each pool will have a Pool Leader who will be handpicked by the tournament hosts.
  • Stage 1 matches will be best-of-one. You may switch teams between opponents.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown.
  • If any changes to the tier occur during Stage 1, they will not be implemented until Stage 2.
  • You must be active in scheduling with your opponents. The tournament hosts will be very strict about activity during Stage 1. Please use the VM wall so that your activity attempts are visible, and be as specific as possible when scheduling.
  • Stage 1 is a round robin format. This means that you are expected to play every opponent in your pool, even if you lose the first couple of games. If you are unwilling to commit to this format, do not sign up. You are also agreeing to playing games with potential substitutes.
  • Stage 2 is a single elimination bracket, where you will play best of three series with your matched opponent.
  • Saving replays is mandatory, in the case of a dispute you must be able to prove that you won your game.
Standard Rules & Clauses
  • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
  • Evasion Clause: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.

SpenderOfTime vs Sificon - No idea who either player is, but the beedrill pfp in combination with 7 posts, a September 2020 join date & Brazilian location is extremely menacing. I simply can't predict against that. My personal tip to win the whole tour.

Juno vs odr - odr's g2 in the last round was still 5-6 after 100 turns, and was far too boring for me to even click through so I didn't bother watching his series. Juno on the other hand brought 3 strong looking teams, and executed them well throughout the series, despite dropping g2. Her g3 in particular was very impressive I felt, and she seems to have improved a lot from even just a few months ago. I think odr is the more accomplished and experienced player overall here, but if I'm going for an upset in this round it may as well be this one. Juno to take it in 3.

zeriloa vs avarice - avarice brought some glorious looking perish whirlpool azu + blob team in the last round and managed to dispatch of vivalo in 2, despite not looking that impressive in g1. I'm a huge fan of that g2 team choice though and I expect him to keep bringing good teams and be capable of piloting them well enough to grab the wins. zeriloa played well himself in the last round, but I haven't seen enough of him to fully judge yet so I'll go with the player I know more about here.

Fogbound Lake vs pokemonisfun - Fogbound's series had some strange moments in the previous round & I wasn't that impressed by the end of it, but he did do well to come through with the win in 3. Pif managed to somehow rely on his trademark pyukumuku to edge out games 2 & 3 last week (yeah I didn't watch all of that) against a tough opponent. I suspect he wont be able to get away with something similar this time, but I think he should still be experienced enough to get the job done here.
