Welcome, Smogon, to the fifth edition of UU Majors! This is the premier edition of an annual UU Circuit Tour where you can test your mettle against the top players in the community. Unlike most elimination tours, where your opponent is a matter of chance, UU Majors ensures that every participant plays a broad swath of the tier's playerbase as you fight your way to the top. Last year we saw CBU and Eternally fight their way to the top, what up and coming UU players will emerge this time around? It could be you, so don't miss your chance to sign up for the most electrifying UU Circuit tournament!

During Stage 2, players will face each other in a randomly generated bracket and take each other on in a best of 3 SS UU series.

Tour Specific Rules
  • This is a standard SWSH UU tournament.
  • Stage 1 of this tournament will be a round robin series. Players will be placed in pools, and must play all other opponents in their pool.
  • Each pool will have a Pool Leader who will be handpicked by the tournament hosts.
  • Stage 1 matches will be best-of-one. You may switch teams between opponents.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown.
  • If any changes to the tier occur during Stage 1, they will not be implemented until Stage 2.
  • You must be active in scheduling with your opponents. The tournament hosts will be very strict about activity during Stage 1. Please use the VM wall so that your activity attempts are visible, and be as specific as possible when scheduling.
  • Stage 1 is a round robin format. This means that you are expected to play every opponent in your pool, even if you lose the first couple of games. If you are unwilling to commit to this format, do not sign up. You are also agreeing to playing games with potential substitutes.
  • Stage 2 is a single elimination bracket, where you will play best of three series with your matched opponent.
  • Saving replays is mandatory, in the case of a dispute you must be able to prove that you won your game.
Standard Rules & Clauses
  • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
  • Evasion Clause: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.
pokemonisfun vs Juno (AW)

No hard deadline, but please get it done.

Voting slate results are taken into account which means Gengar & Volcarona are not allowed !

Replays remain mandatory, I'll not ask for them if you forgot to post them !

pokemonisfun vs Juno

both are very active uu players, and juno has had a great run beating top tier ss players like adaam and odr to get to the finals. pif has won uu ladder tour and uu classic and is currently very hot in both individual and certain teamtours. both players like to bring fatter balance teams, and i favor pif vs almost anyone in longer, drawn out matches. while juno has shown great playmaking ability, but im going to bold the player with more tour and finals experience and who is less likely to make a mistake. for juno i'd really like to see clean long condition gameplans (funny coming from clicker pdt) in the event of a balance mirror matchup for her to win, and expecting to see great builds from both. good luck

Since pokemonisfun had some issues he will not be able to play this final of the Underused Majors V. Thus Juno is the winner of the whole tournament. I know it sucks guys, everyone would have liked it to happen differently but we can't do anything.

Congratulations to Juno for going this far and thanks to everyone who participated. It was a great tournament to host and I hope I'll be able to do others in 2021.

Hi, big bad circuit host here - following the unfortunate and strange situation this tournament has faced, I'm going to give some extra information regarding UU Chamiponships.

Before that, though, I'd like to congratulate Juno on winning this tournament. I know this isn't what you wanted, but I hope you feel proud and accomplished as a result of your strong run regardless. I wish you the best of luck in UU Championships. I would also like to thank Moutemoute for hosting the tournament and being very prompt and responsive whenever I came to him with queries. Your contributions are much appreciated!

Anyway, quick thing on pif just so that nobody is left wondering. He announced that he was taking a break from Smogon as a whole last week (Sunday, December 3rd) which is why he couldn't play this series - can't speak on his behalf obviously but basically it's down to real life circumstances. This also means that he has chosen to drop out of UU Championships, which shakes up seeding quite a bit. As a result, I may or may not need to delay the tournament slightly - one week at most - in order to account for potential tiebreakers and such so that the tournament isn't riddled with extensions. I know this doesn't impact most of you but this post was needed for transparency and I will probably end up crossposting in the UU Circuit thread once all is said and done, but for now it'll be covered in DM with all the people it impacts. Best of luck to all of those in playoffs and thank you to those who took part in this tournament. I'm sorry that it wasn't the ending any of you wanted, particularly Juno, but it's unfortunately how things shake out sometimes.
