National Dex Invitational II

Welcome to the National Dex Invitational! Back in 2022, we hosted our first and only invitational to date with ChrisPBacon coming out as the winner. Like the prior invitational, players were selected based upon achievements, experience, and playing ability by a council consisting of myself, Isza , and Kyo . This tour will be double elimination with a best of 3 wins format. Each round will last 1 week (barring r1), and we will have randomized seeding for the first round to determine all matchups going forward. There is a cash prize for top placements. Prize distribution will be $200 USD to the winner, $100 to the runner up, and $50 each to the semi finalists, courtesy of Isza and Kyo.

Specific Rules

- Replays are mandatory
- Matches must be played on PS/SmogTours
- Tiering changes will only affect the subsequent rounds
- Best of 3, double elimination
- Bracket can be found

Unowndragon 45/55 Adriyun
Unowndragon pulled off a big upset in round 1 but based on personal experience, Adriyun is a very solid player and I haven’t seen enough from Dragon.
seth 60/40 Ineros
Seth has a lot more tour experience and I think he’s a better player when it comes down to performing but Ineros is a very good builder and at least a competent player. Good luck to both!
Suzuya 30/70 entrocefalo
Entrocefalo shouldn’t be doubted, great team choices and good at locating his win con and executing a plan. Suzuya is alright from what I’ve seen, maybe he can pull off an upset.
omarsgarciav 52/48 Soul king0
Gonna stick with Omar and predict he rides the wave of momentum since wc. He has a tough opponent this week, a very close match.
Tempo di anguria 51/49 Xurkiyee
I want to say Xurk but Tempo has never given me room to doubt from his recent performances. I still don’t like Xurk’s team choice on occasion, certainly not a critique of his skill.
Taka 45/55 crying
I called crying washed, forgive me. Both had an impressive round 1 but crying deserves the benefit of the doubt because of his nd status.
Weaselfie 30/70 Luthier
Luthier is one of the better players in this tour, only he knows how comfortable this tier is for him but I think last round is a good indicator he adjusted well.
Oculars 51/49 Darkness 789
Should be a wild match, I favor Oculars because I’m more familiar with his work.
ezra 85/15 Nashrock
I don’t expect ezra to go out round 2, nashrock is decent but this is a tough elimination game. Good luck to both.
hi.naming is hard 1/99 thebestever543
In fear of being clowned for making a joke, this is my very serious prediction.
Kyo 51/49 Kayzn
Kyo is always fun to watch and brings some interesting team, but I don’t believe Kayzn is outmatched. Can go either way but I favor Kyo building.
hidin 52/48 pdt
Both coming off great wc performances and sad round 1 performances. Back against the wall, hidin will silence the doubters
sealoo 52/48 Sulo
I thought Sulo looked in good shape round 1, sealoo looked in bad form. I will look past that because I know he has it in him. And probably favor his prep more.
Lameflame 45/55 ChrisPBacon
Sorry LF, I think Chris is the safe choice. He is one of the best players, always executes well and brings teams he’s comfortable with. I think LF is more versatile than people give him credit for and his recent WC performance is impressive to say the least.
ARTYMASION 35/65 zioziotrip
Zio is a very competent player and adjusted well in NDOU. Think I will call skill diff on this one but it depends how serious Zio takes this week. Good luck arty!
Fabriisse 50/50 Mada
Both brought some wacky teams round 1. I don’t know what to expect.

PARLAY TIMEEEE TAP IN EASY BANDS

Unowndragon 35/65 adriyun
I have seen both play a lot and Adriyun don’t play no games
seth 60/40 Ineros
Sethhhywethyyy
Weaselfie 60/40 Luthier
I have played both and I think Weas is better and I believe those games will show that
Oculars 60/40 Darkness 789
goat of ho oculars will load some bullshit and pull through I’m predicting at least one webs game for oculars
ezra 70/30 Nashrock
Ezra realized there’s money on the line so bros locking in
hi.naming is hard 70/30 thebestever543
Nah I’d Lose.
Kyo 55/45 Kayzn
I think kyo wins these but both players are rlly good I’m excited to see what happens
Hidin 50/50 pdt
Two rlly good players I’m excited to watch this one
Lameflame 45/55 ChrisPBacon
prob the best set this round both phenomenal players I think Chris wins tho
Fabriisse 65/35 Mada
I think fab is gonna lock in and win the set

First time doing predicts lets go

Unowndragon vs Adriyun - Adriyun knows how to prep well and I wouldn’t be surprised if he just outplayed Unown. Unown did pull an upset last round though so who knows

Suzuya vs entrocefalo - I don’t know much about Suzuya but I’ve heard they are good, haven’t seen them around ND much tho and I prefer entro’s experience in the tier

omarsgarciav vs Soul king0 - Last week showed Omar is still on fire after his WC run. Really good knowledge meta and playing-wise and I am confident he can take this. Soul King does have a chance though, having been in the last ND circuit finals is no small feat after all, which leads me to believe it won’t be as much of a blowout as some may think.

Tempo di anguria vs Xurkiyee - This is one of my biased predicts, but I’m excited to see this one. Although tempo is a very good player and can definitely win, I think Xurk is not to be taken lightly either and definitely learned from when he last played tempo in wc. Expecting cool builds from both

Taka vs crying - Crying’s amazing track record in ND and win over lameflame still makes me believe he can pull through even though some people may have been disappointed by his wc performance. Taka is also a similar case where he had a meh wc but has a good win against Chris and won nd kickoff, but Crying is the safe choice for me.

Weaselfie vs Luthier - I don’t know much about either player but I’m more confident in weas’s teams over luthier’s

Oculars vs Darkness 789 - Oculars has some really good builds and is rested and ready to go and I feel that’s a plus in his favor. Darkness is obviously also a good player but I feel Oculars will be able to use something that will completely surprise darkness’s potential prep, but who knows both load some insanely funny teams on occasion.

ezra vs Nashrock - Based on building style and being a safe choice I’m going with Ezra here. I haven’t seen much of Nash lately and I feel Ezra will simply be able to win because he’ll exploit Nash’s regularly standard builds, how he would do it I don’t know.

hi.naming is hard vs thebestever543 - MMX is more varied in builds and such builds are mostly able to catch gew’s mostly standard and predictable stuff off guard, but Gew is full of bullshit luck ready to fire away and you can never predict that factor. Close game imo

Kyo vs Kayzn - I know both are good but Kyo having his good old reliable metagame knowledge and amazing teams is simply too hard to pass up on.

sealoo vs Sulo - I’m cheering for both, go South! Anyway, I bold Sealoo because I’m more confident in how he plays and how he builds, and I think he has the ability to outplay Sulo.

Lameflame vs ChrisPBacon - Second biased pick, but honestly could go either way because of each of their statuses, with Chris being an all time amazing nd player (and just good at making plays in general) and lf having a good and consistent building style on top of a good wc run. I am more confident in lf because I know how he rolls more than Chris

ARTYMASION vs zioziotrip - I think Zio just used already existing teams for his game and I know arty is going to throw a curveball that will catch zio off guard. I’m also more confident in how arty builds / plays since I’ve seen more of him.

Fabriisse vs Mada - I agree with MMX what were the teams these guys loaded LMAO
